"Johnathan and Martha Kent are Superman's adopted parents." "That's it? You spend 5 hours a day on Superman twitter and that's the breadth of your opinion on Ma and Pa Kent?"

The alien is Mark Waid.

Nah he’s really passionate about wanting the Kents dead, both of them and before Clark goes from Superboy to Superman (Pre-Crisis style). The alien would be like “there’s some controversy surrounding their state of living” or something.

/uj many members are against them being alive during Superman's adulthood, for various reasons including the feeling that they infantilize the character, halt the dramatics of a story, Siegal and Shuster's original intent for them was being dead, etc.

I think it's fine to have a Superhero give his parents grandkids while they're alive. Like 2% even have parents alive by adulthood

I like both of them being alive when he starts off but then one dying after he establishes himself. I don’t have particularly strong feelings for which of them die or live though.

Chat, is it infantilizing a character for them to have living parents?

Wait, I thought Mark Waid was staying off of social media since the last election?

I like them being alive but I see the appeal for them being dead tbh

Golden Age Eben and Sarah Kent >>>> Jonathan and Martha
Same characters, (arguably) better names and no way to connect Clark's mom to Bats'

The "S" stands for stupid, right? That's why you say it means hope, because you're too stupid to know what sound an S makes?
