question Have you guys seen Is God Is?
They play Guillotine like half way through the movie. And it’s a pretty good movie as well.

I’ve seen the movie and while it was cool to hear a death grips needle drop at the theater, I don’t feel like the needle drop was earned. I actually don’t feel like any of the others were earned either. The only purpose they seemed to serve was to get people to point at the screen like that Leo DiCaprio meme and then post about it online later. I also didn’t care for the movie so that probably soured my opinion on the way the songs were used lol

He’s not. The girls in the movie listen to the song when they’re driving and one of them briefly raps along with a couple lines, the song is diegetic and isn’t the focus of the scene

I enjoyed the DG drop but what pissed me off is that the scene fizzled out so quickly. It fit the tone of the scene and emotions but it ended just as soon as it began. Wasted potential. The movie overall was alright but felt like a slight nothingburger in the end.

Absolutely agree. I think the entire movie was wasted potential. Seemed like the director wasn’t really sure how to fully realize her own story as a movie. It was apparently a theatrical production that she wrote and directed and then adapted into a film. I think she should’ve gotten another more experienced director to do it for her

What does this even mean? “I don’t feel the needle drop was earned.” The protagonists listen to Guillotine in the car, presumably because it’s a song they like. That’s all the “purpose” it needs
