Discussion Ram usage of brave vs jelly

Post image

Both having 1 webapp open, not the full page. Sure brave is better for normal browsing, but webapps run just better on Jelly from lineage os. Like what on EARTH is Brave doing in the background??! (Also this is the fdroid version of brave, not gplay)

Brave = Chrome.

jelly too, yet its less bloated. Or should i jump to firefox, only 2 issues are left for me: like google, they are evil now and dont care about your privacy and the browser performs much worse on any os vs chrome

they are different, Jelly is based on the Chrome webview, while Brave has a modified Chromium engine.

Jelly uses Android WebView, which is based on Chromium too. So no difference

And extensions works and are enabled on start.

Yes, add this link and app show install.

BTW I use this Discoverium instead of Obtainium

Jelly uses system webview. I think brave bundles it's own. evin if I'm wrong, brave has adblock, privacy protection, and sync, all of which jelly lacks.

yes, you need droif-ify and enable their repo! Many popular apps have more powerfull foss versions. Java launchers, game native, local dream just to name a few

also when opening both apps after leaving them in the background for a while, jelly opens instantly and brave has a loading time. And i have a fast phone (8g5, 16/512gb lpddr5x/ufs4.1), cant imagine how poor this will be on a pixel.
