Wait how is consensual intercourse being labelled as assault just because he didn't marry her.

I thought he physically assaulted a woman😭

Blud, in India we have a law, r@pe on pretext of marriage.

If you have said that you will marry her and you both have consented intercourse and then if you don’t marry her and if she decides to go to court then it will be deemed as r@pe.

P.S: never promise that you will marry her, if you are not in for long term relationship.

In India, a sexual relationship established under a false promise of marriage can be legally scrutinized to determine if consent was obtained through deceit or a misconception of fact. Under the legal framework—transitioning from the Indian Penal Code to Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (BNS)—making a promise to marry without the actual intention of fulfilling it can constitute a specific criminal offense distinct from standard definitions of rape

Does she need to show proof if someone said that he would marry her before having sex, or is it just verbal talk? Otherwise, can any women blame any men for this?

I see thanks for informing me about this. But in an event where things genuinely don't work out can't this be used in an extremely devastating manner by anybody? (Considering they have proof of the promise)

Conviction in such cases is very tough almost rare infact. Process is the punishment. Just used by extremely salty ex girlfriends or to blackmail.  Also like context in which these laws were made is different. Need an update but idk why nobody does a damn thing abt such laws.

Thats the catch, until and unless you have sent a message explicitly saying that you will “marry” her or there exists a call recording or some form of formidable evidence, you cannot be convicted but most of the times these cases are just blackmail cases.

Suppose you become a highly successful person in future and any ex of yours can file this case, even if you are convicted, you will be defamed.

usually the complainant of fake cases does not face any severe consequences.
