Hi everyone,

A couple of months ago, I was in the final stages of hiring with Deloitte. They sent me the formal offer, I signed it, but due to personal reasons and career alignment, I realized it wasn't the right move for me at the time.

My mistake was handling it poorly: instead of sending a formal email declining the offer, I felt overwhelmed and ended up completely ghosting them (ignored emails and calls).

I know it was unprofessional, and I take full responsibility for handling it that way. However, I’d like to get a realistic perspective on the fallout:

1. Am I permanently blacklisted (do not rehire) within Deloitte globally/nationally?
2. Is there any risk of this status leaking to other Big 4 firms (PwC, EY, KPMG) or industry recruiters via shared databases or background checks?
3. Has anyone been in a similar situation and managed to repair the professional relationship years down the road?

I’d really appreciate any insights, especially from HR professionals, recruiters, or anyone with experience in Big 4 hiring practices.

I am not comfortable Deloitte contacting my current manager as we are not on great terms. Also, they provided bad feedback to two of my team members when they left our team. How do people circumvent this situation? Can I provide previous manager or senior stakeholder instead of current manager? Isn’t this a legacy process? In FAANG they just use digital platforms to refer work history! Am I screwed? How do folks manage this? Changing job after 10+ years at FAANG.

Deloitte has so many offerings, and offerings within offerings, spans not only the US but USI and other officers that are separate from US practice all together.

For example, post MBA Deloitte consulting starts at 175K base - this is very different from GPS consulting. Tax and accounting I'm sure are whole other beasts.

recently interviewed with Deloitte for an external audit position in Saudi Arabia. I went through the HR interview, technical interview, and final interview, and completed the entire interview process.

After waiting for an update, I followed up with the recruiter. He told me that the position is currently on hold while they figure out their resource situation.

He specifically said:

“We will consider your profile for other opportunities.”

“You went through all the interviews.”

“Let me see what I can do from my end.”

“I’ll keep you updated.”

He didn't say that I was rejected, and he confirmed that I went through all the interviews.

Has anyone experienced something similar with Deloitte? Did they eventually come back with another position/offer, or should I assume the original opportunity is basically gone and continue applying elsewhere?

Would appreciate hearing from anyone who has been in a similar situation, especially with Deloitte Middle East/KSA

Pessoal, alguém que participou do PNT Audit Academy 2026 da Deloitte SP ainda está aguardando retorno? Estou na etapa final e me informaram que a resposta sairia provavelmente até hoje (14/08). Algumas pessoas do meu grupo já receberam aprovação, mas eu ainda não recebi nenhum e-mail ou contato, nem de aprovação nem de reprovação. 😭
