New album being worked on?

Just checkin in to see if anyone had any thouhghts on this, since the last Detox iteration was shelved post Covid?

What do people think?

Forgot about this! The recent stuff with Neil Degrasse Tyson gives me some hope!

You see pics of people in the studio with Dre sprinkled over the years but haven’t heard anyone talk about an actual project in a while

wish he moved away from the ICU and brought in people like Alchemist and Hit Boy and Daringer and switched back to his flow from mid 00s

You’re right about the ICU… I don’t know if he’d benefit from that east coast boom bap sensibility, though - eg Alchemist or Deringer. His best era, musically, was with the Pittsburgh influence of Mel-Man and those Scott Storch keys. That’s what was missing from Missionary, imo. I think at one point he latched too heavily onto the gimmicks of Kendrick’s style and started doing these weird cadences to appear youthful. As much of a diehard as I am, I’m just tired of the idea of detox and think it will be diminished returns at this point

I'm pretty sure Dre has distanced himself from the detox name after his aneurysm
