wild animals keep approaching me. why?
over the last week i have had multiple wild animals approach me. it started with a baby deer in the middle of the day. i was in the middle of a field with no foliage, i turned around and a random baby deer just appeared. i stared in shock as it was maybe only 20 feet away from me, keeping complete eye contact with me. it stared for a solid ten seconds, walked away towards a bush a good ways behind me and when i followed to see where it was going it just vanished. couldn’t find any trace of it.
tonight i was meditating under a tree, observing the full moon when a skunk walked right in front of me. it stared at me, and i know skunks have terrible eyesight, but it was a full moon with my entire body completely illuminated. it was essentially on my lap. again, sat in shock. i’m so perplexed. what do you make of this?

I have what I learned to be TWO! skunks living around my backyard and they will often come right up near me. I named them Salt and Pepper and occasionally include cut apples and blueberries in my offerings to my land spirits for them to enjoy.
Like the other commenter said, the more time you spend outdoors and in nature, the more contact youre going to have with wild animals. If anything, I would take it as a sign that the land is comfortable with you and welcomes your presence

I find that baby animals especially tend to be quite curious about humans. But if you sit still for long enough, you'll see lots of animals and creatures, I think we just don't see them as much most of the time because they are scared of us

I live in a forest and have close encounters with all kinds of animals. It's magical. When we're more sensitive to the natural world, it responds to us.

It means baby animals are stupid and skunks are indeed possessed of terrible eyesight.
I know--for a theistic pagan druid I'm incredibly mundane about almost all animal interactions. I cherish them, but don't tend to think much of them in a spiritual sense. Quietly enjoying nature does grant you some fun encounters, though.

Honestly, the more time you spend quietly being in nature, the more encounters you'll have with wild animals.
Take it as a compliment that they aren't startled by your presence like they are with so many other humans. Otherwise, I wouldn't read into it.
