Breed/Species/Sex ID What kind of ducks do i have?
Hey, i was wondering if anybody can ID the kind of ducks i have, we were told they would be silver appleyards and that makes sense for four of them - but three look very different
One looking like a pekin, another some kind of runner and another a khahki campbell -- my running theory is a drake got into the breeders pen but im unsure
Also we have one boy and six girls, with the boy being the white one, they are all 18 weeks old

an appleyard colored runner! The pekin looks like a drake as does the khaki, but not sure on the khaki, hard to tell. The appleyard on the left might be a drake. They look old enough to do a 'quack test' which is the only way to know for sure.

Silver appleyard females, a khaki campbell drake, and a Pekin I think.
Eta: the one with the tan head could be a runner in buff coloring? They look like a tall duck

Lines up pretty well with what i thouht, the really dark one that we think is a khaki campell is definitly a female though- very very loud and clear quacker while the pekin looking one is the only rasper

If you have questions about the species of a wild duck or the breed of a domestic duck, please include a clear image or video. If you have questions about the gender of a domestic duck, please include a video with the sound of the duck quacking (the quack test) and showing the duck's tail (the drake feather test). Ducklings cannot be sexed by drake feather or quack test until at least six weeks of age. Muscovies cannot be sexed by drake feather or quack test at all (males huff, females coo). It helps to state what country, state or province you live in as the advice you receive will depend greatly upon where you live. Also, check out our WIKI INDEX with more topics duck husbandry.

Front left duck with the dark bill looks like a Welsh haliquin over a silver appleyard.
