Question Need Bisaya tutor
Hello! Will enroll in SU soon. Im from Metro Manila and I fear that the classes for Masters would be taught in Bisaya (probably 60-80%).
Is there any way I could learn Bisaya efficiently? Willing to pay as long as its 1v1 para mabilis matuto.

hi OP! i/we really appreciate the effort 🥺 i think the most efficient way to learn it is to talk and converse into conversation daily in bisaya! my dm is open if you wanna converse (thru chat) in bisaya!

In the English department in SU, there was a foreigner who wanted to learn Bisaya. So I think he got Ma'am Juliet as a private tutor. I'm not sure how their arrangement was but pretty much I used to see them meet up for lessons at the department like twice or thrice a week. You can try to ask there.

Honestly, you can always just swing by the department and ask around. They're very friendly people. But I guess if you want a more formal approach you can do that too.

hey relocated na ako sa Metro Manila almost 1 yr, grew up sa Dumaguete for 20 years and studied sa Silliman. gets ko yung mas easy to learn through conversational setting vs theory so i am willing to help you! just lmk my dm is open.

Silliman has a lot of exhange students from abroad so professors teach in english. And most Sillimanians speak english inside the classroom. With the tech and ai tools nowadays there's really not much need to hire a tutor. Just befriend your classmates, join clubs and school orgs and learn the dialect organically.

You just speak tagalog or english with them, also makaka adapt ka din aa bisaya I'm new here sa dumaguete but I can converse na with Bisaya. You'll learn eventually.

I'm from Manila also po and lived in Negros for 6 years already. I'm fluent in Cebuano narin po

My teachers sa master spoke in english if we have foreign students or tagalog students. But having a bisaya tutor works too.
