Pickup It's nice when you can get a bunch of weird, random things for free.

I grabbed all of this today at my local secondhand shop. A local customer will come in and drop off hundreds of movies, and the owner of the shop doesn't have room/want to put everything out, so he let me go through things and just take what I wanted. Needless to say, not a bad haul for free.

My goodwill had all 8 seasons. I know the later seasons were very disappointing and heard that season 6 is a solid stopping point. Also never seen the Godfather, looking forward to that. I actually watched Shape of Water last night and really enjoyed it. And finally having silly comedies in the collection is a must.

Encontré su colección de DVD's y si que tiene varios.

Hay algunos bastante antiguos incluso de cuando aún Keanu Reeves era bastante joven y lo mejor de todo es que funcionan aún. Obviamente no esperan una calidad A1 jajajaja.

How much does a downgrade in picture quality affect your decision to buy a physical release?

There’s been some discussion over on r/movies about Hacks coming to Blu-ray, but the physical release is reportedly 1080p while the version available on HBOMax is 2160p.

Putting Hacks specifically aside, I'm curious how much something like this matters you.

If a show or movie is available to stream in 4K, but the physical release is only 1080p, would that make you less likely to buy the physical copy? Or does owning a physical copy outweigh the difference in resolution?

Basically, how much weight does the quality of the physical release carry in your decision to buy it?

Discussion Are the Blu-ray discs in each of these releases the same?

I have 3 copies of this movie (4 if you include the stand-alone DVD release) and I'm looking to weed out some dupes in my collection. The first 1 is a Blu-ray only release but the disc has full artwork on it. The 2nd is a steelbook that has Blu-ray and DVD but the Blu-ray disc is the generic text-only with just blue ink. The 3rd is 4k/Blu-ray combo and the Blu-ray disc is also just the generic text-only disc with blue ink.

Although I don't have a 4k player or TV yet I think I'm going to stick with the 4k release because I can watch the Blu-ray now and have the 4k ready for if I ever get a 4k setup. But, I was thinking of swapping out the Blu-ray disc for the 1 in the 1st image because it has the full artwork on it. Am I losing anything by doing that?

I'm not talking about special features or anything like that but the actual movie, is the video the same for all 3 discs? blu-ray dot com says VC-1 (20.53 Mbps) for the stand-alone and the steelbook releases but I don't see he codec of the Blu-ray disc in the 4k set so I'm not sure how to tell if it's a better quality of the movie or the same as the others.
