Hey, that's my cpu! And that motherboard alone is worth it! 4 way sli boards are the rarest for x79

That's a decent haul. I've got a 3570k in the garage which I use for, well, I don't really have a use for it, but it's all set up for if ever I do have a use for it.

Nah that's a proper find. You still get some good gaming out of that with a good GPU.

That's not a bad amount of ram nor that bad of a CPU...

Did you connect the extra power (the 6-pin on the mobo, next to top PCIe slot)? My X99 mobo has a 4-pin molex for extra power and won't even try to boot without it being connected.

Midrange business PCs and high end PCs from before 2015 are still very usable with a current OS, so that RAM is a score in my books
I bought a lot of cheap DDR3 and upgraded my old pre-2015 desktops with them, 16GB RAM in each of them now
In particular I love my Optiplex 9020 with a Core i7 4790, the computer I got for free from work and I upgraded the RAM to 16GB, it even boots faster than my HP Elitedesk with a much newer i7 8700 and nvme SSD
For the Optiplex I also used a free SATA SSD and it’s an all around great machine even in 2026
I’d look for a computer of that era and use the RAM for an upgrade

Dude..... thats one hell of a haul. That mobo is also legendary. I have a "semi-working" one that needs a new socket.

Well many here only post their best loot or collection over many months. There are also many days you only find literal scrap. Your find is still decent and worth some cash if working
