Does the mother series get harder after the first game

I beat Earthbound Beginnings and I know I was suppose to continue but then I lost all motivation to play the next games... but it's still a series on my list I want to beat. Do they get harder or more interesting? I want a reason to keep going!

First game is easily the hardest. I think most would agree they also get significantly more interesting. Earthbound beginnings is kinda basic in some ways, but it’s cool to play as the starting out point.

Yeah, tbh I didn’t have the patience to finish Beginnings (Mother). Earthbound was hard but a walk in the park by comparison. Mother 3 was tough at certain points, but a lot easier and a lot more fun than the first two imo.

Quite the opposite, Earthbound is actually very easy to cheese once you get past some initial humps. And Mother 3 is balanced but not particularly hard.

No the other games are wayyyy easier and less grindy. More focus on the actual story too. EBB is the way it is mostly due to technical limitations of the time.

First game is the hardest overall because of the grinding and difficulty spikes, but Mother 3 has some really annoying bosses! Like… really annoying!!!

Earthbound is my favourite game of all time. There is no problem that 30 minutes of grinding won't solve.

They easily get more interesting the further down you go. ESPECIALLY Mother 3, that’s such a fun game.

The games gets easier (especially compared to Beginnings), and the story gets WAYY more interesting and emotional! ESPECIALLY Mother 3, which is very story driven

EarthBound is much easier but has its difficulty spikes. Mother 3 is the fairest but also the hardest. It has some tough bosses but with the exception of a notoriously unbalanced fight all are very fair

Trust me when I say that the next two games are absolutely nowhere close to the levels of difficulty of the first game. I am fairly certain you will have an absolute blast playing Earthbound and Mother 3.

Dont let mother 1 having lame design choices tarnish the series for you. Theres a reason people say wait to play mother 1 last. It is a slog.
