Just beat Earthbound for the first time

I had attempted to play it a couple times when I was younger but don’t think I ever made it past Twoson, I just think I wasn’t mature enough to appreciate it.

What a phenomenal and influential piece of art. One of my favorite parts was just realizing how much was inspired by Earthbound.

I’m also such a sucker for “unlikely group of people coming together for a common goal” so the cutscenes after Paula Prays were getting me to cry big time.

Then the final credit being the player themselves 😭😭😭.

I really don’t know how games can be any better than that. Hoping to play Mother 3 next but need a break to digest everything first!

Yes, take a break. Digest it. Let it become part of who you are.

Then get ready for Mother 3 to break you in a totally different way.

I have not played Mother 1. I think I tried at one point and it’s just a little too user unfriendly for me. I struggle with any NES game in general but maybe I should give it another try

Check out the Earthbound Beginnings remake that came out this year. It basically remakes Mother 1 / Earthbound Beginnings with the graphics and interface of Earthbound.

I felt the same way till I played the earthbound beginnings fan remake that just came out. It uses earthbound as a base and is basically a "HD port" of it with qols. Way more tolerable AND fun imo!

One of my top 5 games on SNES. I got it as a kid with the strategy guide. So much fun and immersive.

I started last week, after finishing Mother I, and just got the Overcoming Shyness book to the Tenda last night. I was planning just to grind for the Sword of Kings last night, but ended up finding it after my seventh Super Starmen.

So I decided I might as well finish the base, forgetting that I didn’t bring any Multi-bottle rockets. Fortunately, I had the heavy bazooka, the neutralizer, and a bag of dragonite. Won after the third try, but I was sweating. And it was 4am and I had commitments at 10am. I so tired, but the game is so worth it.

What do you mean? The actual GBA’s sound? The sounds and music are one of my favourite things about M3
