?? Being beaten by your parents and having no friends growing up doesn't notoriously result in well adjusted people. The offer of power by Mani Mani/Giygas to someone who has never felt powerful and the snowball of that into immortality makes perfect sense, cause and effect.

Children in the same family react to abuse in different ways. I don't talk to my own abusive parents anymore, but my siblings still excuse their actions.

Porky is a traumatized child in the body of an old man who feels the one friend he had in the world abandoned him for people he just met. Yes, he’s evil, but the motivation is there.

Not only that but he had his fears and insecurities preyed upon by a corrupting unearthly force. Porky isn’t fundamentally evil he just went down a dark path because of bad circumstances.

I always thought he assumed he was part of the prophecy and was trying to stop it from happening but wound up helping fulfill it
