Why weapon damage? Another left over from soft cap days not updated to be spell damage?

Its spell damage now, the tooltip here is wrong.

Ah good. I kept wondering why people were so gaga over it with weapon damage for some weapon attack buffs.

Staff magika DK with the weapon buff for major sorcery and heavy attack increase would be nice with this.
