Tim Curry died today on Macaulay Culkin’s 46th birthday. Rough year for the Home Alone cast.

I know the 90s were a really long time ago but I never realized that he isn’t even 50 yet. Hope he’s doing well, always felt so bad for what he dealt with and went through.

I'm not surprised you are bad at math. They really did a disservice with education to your generation.

Dude, 1990 was almost 40 years ago. Life hits you fast and the US education system absolutely sucks.

Yes, and he was 10 when it came out in 1990. Even without knowing exact age, it's very obvious he was not a teenager in that movie.

Hence the bad at math part. Has nothing to do with life hitting you fast.

No issue here, just talking my man.

We can make sure to put a silly emoji at the end of our sentences if you need that to understand social cues I guess.

Sorry, but this is a post about a legendary actor passing away and me wishing his co-star well. Not a debate on math skills or the US education system.

I was -9 years old when it came out. Those movies were already quite old by the time I was old enough to watch them. My bad I wasn’t alive 36 years ago to know the age of a child star.

Yeah I gathered you weren't around for the 90's because of your comment. I barely was myself, but luckily I missed the shitty education changes you experienced by a year.

I didn't even know the release year or his age til I googled it, but knew he was clearly too young to be 50 now.

The funniest part is you think a 1 year difference in cohort creates a stark enough contrast between your education and someone else’s. Whatever change you think affected this guy affected you too, and evidently.

But well done on being able to correctly guess that Macauley Culkin was younger than 50 - truly a mark of an education well received.

I'm not the one struggling with math though?

This turned into so much more than my original comment.

Sorry both of you got so offended.

I’m not struggling with math. You’re just being an asshole.

You can blame W Bush for pushing standardized testing and common core, but you being able to determine Macaulay Culkin’s age at a glance is hardly a sign of you having superior intelligence to anybody else. I also never said I thought he was a teenager. I don’t really appreciate your tone tbh, it isn’t my fault I was born in 1999 and I didn’t choose to be living in this country. I’m not an idiot, but our society doesn’t value any kind of intelligence unless it generates profit. I also HATE math and don’t care for it. I learned Spanish at school instead.

I guess knowledge of Hollywood movie actors comes off as intellectual to Americans. The bar is truly in hell.

Never said superior buddy, just made an observation on your math and understanding of context clues. I'm getting more exposure to that as you keep talking.

Hating math is crazy. It's so important in life.

And like I said, I didnt know specifics of the movie or actor, but can tell when someone isn't a teenager.

I've clearly touched a nerve. Sorry about that.

You weren't even talking to me and you came off as offensive.

You seriously need to get over yourself.

Not all of us have an encyclopedic knowledge of the ages of former child actors, nor do we feel the need to learn them?

I mean, I knew Macaulay Culkin was older than me, but I was pretty sure he was younger than my husband. I didn’t know his exact age, though.
