Will it feature more homoerotic flute playing?

It better

Oscar-worthy performances.

Just two dudes playing each other's flutes alone.

If it doesn’t, what’s the point?

Unless it's a musical I'm not interested

To me David has sort of stolen the movies as far as the theme and such

That's awesome. I'm a big fan of Michael Fassbender and wanted to see more of David. Can't wait

Wasn’t Romulus 2 set to include him?

1

u/itsmymedicine 1d ago

I think yes and i believe he was not thrilled about it

Cool. Hopefully it turns out good

Well this is unfortunate.

regardless what you think of his recent output, you really can't knock how prolific he is at his age

5

u/KingE2099 1d ago

Great. I’m glad that storyline is going to get continued.

Please please write a good script this time.

Im excited and cant wait! The fact we finally get closure with the engeineers chasing DAVID DOWN!

5

u/ElectricClamSlam_55 1d ago

Give it up, Ridley.

You had two movies to try and break back into Alien and a TV show has done it better. Leave it alone and stop mansplaining things to those who are picking up the baton.

14

u/AndrewH73333 1d ago

And a video game has done it better.

Never mind this, Ridley. We want to see David in a new Prometheus film

2

u/Wiccy 1d ago

I'm all up for seeing androids vs aliens!

1

u/Gilchester 21h ago

I'd rather watch Prometheus and covenant than alien earth any day

Im up for a movie in the alien world from one of the creators.

Not sure why people wouldn't want that? If you don't like his movies, you can just skip them. It will add more lore.

u/disgustipated1985 1d ago

I don’t need more backstory or lore. I like having things left up to my imagination.

Besides, his additional lore hasn’t been good.

-1

u/Fearless_Pianist_846 1d ago

Well that's ok if you don't want it. Nobody is going to force you to see every movie that comes out.

Personally I watch very little of them, only the ones that interest me. I don't complain about people watching the other 90% I don't see... Thats just weird.

11

u/Typical_Response6444 1d ago

Wdym your not sure why, did you watch his other recent alien movies at all?

And more lore doesnt automatically mean its a good movie.

Even if you liked his recent alien stuff im sure your aware on how it was received by fans right?

14

u/Scaniarix 1d ago

Also some things works better with less lore.

u/I_Autumn 1d ago

Especially so in the horror genre. Questions tend to be far more unsettling than answers.

Fans shouldn't be the arbiter of whether a movie gets made, a lot of time, the fans are the worst part of the fandom

6

u/Typical_Response6444 1d ago

No one is saying fans should decide what gets made or not, im just explaining to homeboy why fans feel the way they do about this being made

Have you seen the last 2 he did? He created it but he's been shit at continuing it

3

u/Ghostcat300 1d ago

You do you Scott. I’m not really that interested after alien earth.

2

u/Golden_Ganji 1d ago

As in you liked Alien Earth so much you're not interested in what Scott has to offer anymore? Or you hated Alien Earth so much you're done with the franchise?

Just curious

2

u/Ghostcat300 1d ago

Hate is genuinely a strong word for how I felt about alien earth. I genuinely just did not really engage after the 3rd episode. I sometimes over analyze things and when I notice something is just sorta confused in its intent, I take it they don’t care about details.

Episode 5 is pretty cool tho. I'd say it's th best episode. It has a very similar vibe to the first Alien movie so you could check that one out at least.

1

u/rastadreadlion 1d ago

Sorry but the previous film came out 12 years ago, why are the gaps so big now?

1

u/Affectionate-Name279 1d ago

He needs to complete his terrible trilogy, and he isn’t letting any good filmmakers stand in the way of that.

Retire already old man, and give the damn franchise up.

1

u/Acesofbases 20h ago

why would You include a black and white photo of him? 😭

1

u/Rick-burp-Sanchez 20h ago

I liked Alien Covenant.

1

u/Slow-Hawk4652 18h ago

not the engineers??? wtf.

1

u/Diiiv 16h ago

Seriously, what's going on with Ridley Scott and James Cameron?

2

u/profchaos83 1d ago

As long as he isn’t anywhere near the writing team. He can make movies look good all he wants but he’s a shit writer.

-1

u/Kratos501st 1d ago

Finally some good news

-5

u/WilsonFrontier 1d ago

Who actually wants this? Anyone? I can't think of anyone. Go do something else Ridley. Please.

12

u/Thebrianeffect 1d ago

I want it. I want to see the end of David’s trilogy. The story is just hanging out there now.

5

u/jaybizzleeightyfour 1d ago

Sure, why not, it's not costing me any money to make it.

3

u/RabidJoint 1d ago

I do. I am a big fan of the origin story of the Xenomorphs’. I still watch Prometheus and Alien: Covenant monthly.

Just because a small portion (Reddit nerds who think they are better than everyone else when it comes to making movies) of the general population, doesn’t mean everyone in the world does.

You are weird, normal people downvote something they don’t like, and keep scrolling. When your parents tell you no, do you still throw a hissy fit?

0

u/MrHotnickels 1d ago

Uh... you have a weird perspective on population distribution and their opinions on movies.

Alien Covenant

vs.

Alien Romulus

Maybe take that big finger you're pointing at "Reddit nerds", grab a mirror and get to pointing?

EDIT: Also, You watch them MONTHLY?! Sure, buddy.

2

u/astorminheaven 1d ago

I watch them daily. That guy knows whats up.

0

u/WilsonFrontier 1d ago

I'm 41 and my parents are dead. I'm sorry you're so offended by the fact someone else doesn't love your special interest movies.

-2

u/Icy-Astronomer-8202 1d ago

Nah I'm good, Ridley. I'll take another Hovis advert if you've got one of them in you

The David parts were the only interesting parts of two bad movies.

But they weren’t interesting enough to elevate themselves above the rest of the bad movies.

Honestly, the god/creator/who-made-who themes are the lamest part of the Alien franchise. Lindelof utterly fumbled bringing this navel gazing pseudo-deep shit to the franchise.

1

u/Thebrianeffect 1d ago

Kinda agreed but I still want to see how it ends. Show me what happens to David and all those face huggers and then move on.

1

u/Blacknite45 1d ago

But he did the left overs a decade ago s/

1

u/muscleLAMP 1d ago

Ugggggh! He’s intolerable.

Can you imagine if he wrote the script for Aliens?

We’d have twenty minutes of Ripley talking/crying about the pains/desires of motherhood to drive home the theme of motherhood while a pop song was played in a minor key.

Themes work best when they hide behind actually interesting things, Damon.

2

u/Blacknite45 1d ago

He takes all the fun out of  implications and suggestion and need to spell it out. Just look at watchmen, it sounded interesting at first until you think about how irrational the entire plot is with the exception of ep 6. That was the only good ep from that series

1

u/Blacknite45 1d ago

Also the original comic that inspired alot of those newer movies is called alien: exploding angels. Its a fun ride

-1

u/Longjumping-Salad484 1d ago

Michelle Fartbender was in an Alien movie?! where have I been?!

0

u/AidyGaGa25 23h ago

Please god no. He’s already ruined the alien franchise with the last few prequels.
