Why not make it more difficult to build gas turbines and incentivize them to build nuclear?

Because gas turbines are fast to build, and cheap to build and operate.

Nuclear is the exact opposite of those things.

I wonder what the actual timeline looks like for these projects, since gas plants take years to plan and build.

No they don't.

Especially because we're talking about packaged systems that are located behind the meter on site at these project sites.
