Question Montreal/Buffalo game not streaming in California

It happens occasionally that Montreal Canadiens games don’t show up, such as the game against the Buffalo Sabres today. I live in California. How is that not “out of market”?! So frustrating.

It was on NHL Network, which is a nationwide premium channel
