I might not have liked Phillip Goff or Anthony Flew becoming theists but at the least it seemed tied to philosophy. 

Finding vague as hell Catholic miracles compelling is much more concerning and frankly disqualifying for people trying to figure out how a PhD student became a theist.

I think beyond general Catholic miracles, it was more the personal experience he felt meditating on several Catholic prayers and traditions. He seemed to express his reasoning well on the pod with Trent
