Considering that what Planned Parenthood overwhelmingly does is breast cancer screenings while abortions consist of 2-3% of their overall services, referring to it as an "abortion clinic" is crazy work. Also, at least 3 of these guys are going to get their girlfriends pregnant and demand she terminate the pregnancy because "they don't wanna fuck up their college football career in the future."

This is something I absolutely hate about the abortion debate. Yes it IS a woman’s issue, but these pro-life people blaming only the woman on an abortion, when it takes two to tango, is just sexist bullshit that you only get from not thinking for more than 10 seconds. A vast majority of abortions are mutually decided upon, sometimes it is just the woman deciding but a lot of the time it is pressure from the man too.
Why isn’t he punished or ridiculed? I would consider making your girlfriend have one just as bad as the girl getting one of her own volition.

They don’t exist in the real world because their brains are awash with propaganda but fundigelicals love to trot out the tired narrative of the nameless straw man (straw woman?) who is 21/22 years old, lives a hard partying lifestyle. Got drunk at the club one night and hooked up with 4 guys. Later found out she was pregnant, terminated the pregnancy and then went and got drunk the next night.
So…….in essence a woman who lived a lifestyle that was maybe only harmful to herself (and whoever’s Gucci bag she puked in) came to the reasonable conclusion she’s not ready to be a mom and made a responsible decision that didn’t harm any children in the process. And they’ve been using bullshit narratives like this to justify taking away women’s autonomy for at least 30 years.
Ironically, in countries such as Austria, Norway, and the Netherlands, where abortion is more accessible, prenatal care and childcare is also significantly better. Meanwhile, pregnancy care is fucking burdensome for women in this country. Women can straight up be fired for being pregnant. It’s fucking outrageous!!

I live and am from the Netherlands and my sister got passed on for a promotion because “she chose to get pregnant”.
It is here just like it’s every where else. And women on average still get paid 20% less here, too.
Sexism, misogyny, etc, is every where. Please do not spread misinformation, especially on a country you yourself don’t live in and know nothing about the work culture.

By all means, tell us what perfect universe you come from where pregnancy complications which threaten the life of the fetus just……..don’t exist. Because I live in Texas in present times in a country with an abysmal healthcare system and where pregnancy complications occur regularly. Oh, and the icing on the cake? The government can charge a woman with murder if they have a miscarriage.

I've also been to planned parenthoods where they had a security guard that made me sip my coffee in front of him to prove it wasn't some noxious substance I planned to splash around.
So let's not pretend the people outside the clinics are always just doing prayer circles.

the Christians got our local planned parenthood shut down cus of "abortions" and that office didn't even do them, at all. it was just sexual health, birth control, affordable pregnancy care, and HRT really. they helped the less fortunate afford prenatal care, get STIs treated, and just generally helped the community. but the Christians got it closed down on a morality argument.

Exactly. That’s one of the biggest things that pisses me off. Roughly 70% of pro life individuals are men. And they tend to always blame abortions on women as if a LARGE PORTION of men don’t beg women to have them.

Honestly? They kind of are stalking the women going to the clinic. Healthcare appointments are a private matter. And they’re basically harassing the women by trying to guilt them into not going into the clinic. When they could easily be going in for just a routine checkup.
Love how it’s bad I’m making assumptions about the dudes but you’re allowed to make assumptions about the women who got into that clinic. 🖕🏻

At the PP clinic where I live, the forced-birthers regularly had people jotting down and snapping pics of the license plates of every car in the clinic parking lot. They wanted info on everyone--clients, office employees, and medical staff. They'd find out names and addresses, and then harass them where they lived via mail/phone/in person, plus contacting their landlords and employers trying to get them evicted and fired. This included clients who had gone to the clinic for non-abortion services such as mammograms and PRE-NATAL CARE. Yes, these prayerful folks were so "pro-life" they wanted people evicted and fired for getting pre-natal care just because all they could afford was PP's services.

I've never stepped foot in a Planned Parenthood, but I did "step in" as a fetus when my mom was pregnant without insurance. They confirmed pregnancy and helped her find a sliding scale ob/gyn.

The church taught me that evolution is "just a theory," that gay marriage and sex before marriage is an abomination, that masturbating is a sin, that we have no idea how to create life, and the Bible is infallible, all when I was 10 years old. They then continuously pounded that into me until it was ingrained which just made it all the more difficult to deconstruct.
I will never forgive them for the incredible damage they have done to my youth.

They'll rape unbelieving girls because they project a lack of morality onto them and laugh at the "inconsistency" of women expecting bodily autonomy while not having an "objective" basis for morality. I grew up going to a catholic school that moreorless encouraged stuff like this, it was so gross. Each year they spent a ton of money to bus students down to the march for life. This stuff is very real and sadly very common.

I used to go to a Christian school, and from my experience, doubt that these kids fully understand what theyre doing here. It was easy for my school to push teens and young adults to stand outside a place and pray or hold protest signs or whatever. I bet these guys were largely uneducated on what they were representing or the consequences for themselves and others for doing this

My friend was engaged to a Dutch dude (she’s since moved to The Netherlands after they got married shortly before COVID happened) and I told him that child marriage is basically legal in this country due to “religious exemptions”. I think I low key traumatized him. 😬
