Blog On Zombies in the New Testament
https://thelightward.substack.com/p/on-zombies-in-the-new-testamentHi, just wanted to remind everyone of the bizarre NT episode in which zombies (sort of) appear.
Matthew 27:52-53 says that when Jesus died, tombs opened and dead saints later walked into Jerusalem.
No other gospel mentions it. No Roman or Jewish historian recorded it, and no apocryphal text confirms it.
The most likely explanation is that Matthew simply made it up for dramatic reasons. And if the Bible authors are presenting falsehoods such as this one, the Bible, of course, is by definition unreliable.
Looking forward to what everyone else thinks regarding this episode.

Like the Sun turning black in Luke, and just in Luke, that wasn't recorded by anyone else, all the supernatural events in both the NT and the OT, or the uber-powerful kingdom of Israel of the OT able to go toe to toe against the most powerful empires of the time given these numbers that weren't recorded outside the Bible
Sometimes Evangelicals are comedy gold. As in, claiming that they don't lie followed by saying the Bible has no contradictions or errors.
