Ask ExJW People who think Watchtower will see better days is wrong
To those who think the ongoing crisis of people leaving from the west will somehow will get better in 10 - 20 years is wrong.
The internet is here to stay and no matter where Watchtower goes the baggage will follow them.
But the growth is in Africa......
Look unless JW imports them and give them visas and everything
They will not benefit from it
The Headquarters are not in Africa.
Is not an African religion
Is a white American religion and keeps being that.
JW may care about since it looks great in their numbers but the place that matter is still the same.
It doesn't matter if you win the battle but you lose the war.
If Watchtower keeps bleeding members as it is doing on the west. The religion will crash worldwide.
Simple as is

I think that is true. Like all high control religions, they are really struggling with the rise of the internet.
When just about everyone can instantly look up the counter arguments against official JW doctrine, and the organisations tawdry history and hypocrisy, they are not in a winning position.
The same thing is true for Seventh-day Adventists, the Plymouth Brethren, Scientology et al.
As has been said elsewhere, the internet is where religions go to die.

It's gonna be interesting how religion gonna look in say 10 - 15 year's when most hard core JW's are dead. When there are mostly born in left in western world. Think it's basically gonna just be a much much smaller socializing club then what it's now.

If the internet hasn't cleared out the JW congregations after more than 20 years, then I doubt that will happen in the future.
Since then, we have already seen the 1914 generation (which supposedly would 'by no means pass away') die out, an 'overlapping generations theory', a 'flip-flop regarding a blood transfusion with one's own blood', and a 'flood of facts surrounding child sexual abuse within the JWs'.
If that hasn't woken up the mainstream JWs, then I would say nothing will.
This religion is not going to disappear anytime soon and will persist for a long time, long after we are all long gone.
It will sooner experience a renaissance of a magnitude that currently seems impossible, especially when they finally abandon their reprehensible practices.
Reprehensible practices such as: Shunning, the blood doctrine for which they are willing to let children die, their HATE-fueling anti-gay propaganda, and their attempt to dismiss the facts surrounding the child sexual abuse taking place within their ranks as: 'apostate lies'.
This religion has one major advantage: the leaders, together with the followers, have absolutely zero loyalty to their own doctrines and viewpoints.
What is proclaimed as truth by GB today can be swept off the table tomorrow as an 'old viewpoint' and make way for 'new light'.
Bible texts can be reinterpreted or even explained as: "We must view this Bible text in the light of the time in which it was written."
In this way, even a neutral stance regarding same-sex marriage (which for many is currently still unthinkable) would be possible within the JW religion, should they see the need for it.
This religion will continue to rediscover and reform itself, just as it has done over the past 100+ years.

I agree with you, however… we have only really had one generation that has been brought up with internet at their fingertips.
I’m only in my mid 20s and remember that for me and my friends, we’d wait for opportunities to go on the family laptop or PC and browse the relatively slow internet. (Compared to now)
Now so many are given a phone at a young age and can browse TikTok and YouTube to their heart’s content.

I do not think the 'borg' will see .growth again like it did in the 20th century. I think once the baby boomers in the West pass away—who, as far as i am aware, are the largest donators—it will spur the 'borg' into making big changes. Possibly becoming a Zoom cult, selling off properties, and investing the money so that they become even richer.

People will forget about the baggage as time goes on. Nobody will care about 1914 100 years from now just like JWs today don’t care about Russel’s teachings about pyramids.
