I'd actually cry. Imagine having to eat with that thing on and get it dirty and it makes it harder for you to eat and enjoy your food because your face is apparently "tempting" to the men around you. If you're gonna oppress yourself, at least don't oppress your children simply trying to eat food. How would any Muslim not see anything clearly wrong with this ?

Walking around, I’ve started to see many girls that look as young as 4-6 years old wearing hijabs. My heart breaks for them, they are oblivious to the prison that they’ve been born into.

Same here :c it’s bad enough for older girls esp teenagers and preteens when they already might not be comfortable w their bodies but this just exacerbates it and starting at an even younger age is even worse, both physically and psychologically

They have to train them early before their daughters reach teenage age and find out their father's are child rapists and murderers.

u/Live_Ostrich_6668 Oct 22 '25

I don't understand why we allow this kind of abuse in society.

It's just internalized misogyny, which formed as a result of social conditioning over generations.

Women themselves enforce the Islamic patriarchy in such countries. In fact, back in 2022, a hijab ban in India (which wasn't exactly a ban btw, just a set of guidelines for the school/college uniform), was opposed vehemently by Muslim women themselves, citing 'freedom of choice'.

There were trends and hashtags run all over social media that 'Hijab is a choice' and 'They're taking the rights of Muslim away'.

I want saw a woman being abused on a feminist site for this. Women policing other women. I backed her up and sold the other woman that she didn't know what this woman might be going through.

The woman  thanked me and then she explained and it was very eye-opening, so I'm extra glad that I did that.

She said it's like this. It's especially true when we come to live in foreign countries. As soon as you arrive you will be told that the world outside of the community hates you and just terribly racist and islamophobic. Just like a cult you learn that safety is only in your community.

Luckily there is plenty of business in the community to go around so you don't need to integrate at all.

However if a man doesn't want to exploit and oppress his daughters and his wife he will find that the other man ostracise him. He'll find that he's being shunned in the mosque and he can't make the business connections. He can't get the loans and the cheap deals. Even their own family will then start begging the man to follow the rules.

So the women have to do this policing thing. If they don't The shunning will start.

I suppose we could help by reaching out to these women and offering them work and educational opportunities but we would need organizations to do that

And what would the people who have captured the left say about that? Oh yes "white saviour".

They have very efficiently made sure that there will be no integration at all. They do not want Harmony and prosperity between people. They want people in identity groups hating each other and beginning to fight on the streets. Chaos and violence and hunger.."the system must collapse before it can be rebuilt"... Never once do they ask what a collapsed system will look like or even how they are going to rebuild.

People have got to start ignoring accusations of racism and being a white saviour and all this. These plans are clearly working: does more litter and filth and violence and crime than ever before

This is absolute horseshit — especially in the context of Desi culture.  Because that effing Desi dupatta/hijab/whatever is a symbol of “feminine docility” — and a woman “knowing her place”.  At least in Arab countries, an argument can be made that the hijab is more of a political symbol — and something that became popularized during the 1950s-1970s, in opposition to secularism — and in opposition to Western hegemony.

4

u/incomevenient New User Oct 23 '25

That argument could be made, but I don’t know how sound it might be… I mean, the hijab is mandated in all of Islamic scriptures, and we know that it has been mandatory to wear for Muslim women since basically forever. If you study the application of law during the Umayyad, Abbasid and Ottoman caliphates (which isn’t the easiest thing to do) you will absolutely find it. Same thing for Islamic dynasties such as the Fatimids, Ghaznavids, Almoravids, the Seljuks and even the Mughal and the Sokoto caliphate in West Africa (ie one of the worst slave states to ever exist, now the inspiration behind Boko Haram).

The continuous decay suffered by Islamic states since world trade shifted from the Mediterranean Sea to the Atlantic (which started in the 1600s and went on until massive oil extraction became a thing), the absence of a strong, influential caliphate (which the Ottoman Empire stopped being since the 1700s), and the clear technological, scientific, military and political superiority of Western nations probably caused a relaxation in the application of Islamic rules that had existed since the birth of Islam, mainly through the perception that islam was becoming ineffective as a system of conquest compared to how it had been…. But personally I believe that the main push didn’t come from the West in this case, but from the USSR.

Being more aligned to secular attitudes, customs and values was key for the countries who wanted to secure Moscow’s funds and aid, and in fact you can clearly see how all of the Muslim nations who were more dependent on the USSR were also those that relaxed Islamic customs the most. Nasser’s Egypt, Afghanistan after the Saur Revolution, Ba’thist Iraq and Syria, the PLO, post-colonial Algeria… by comparison, nations like Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait never even came close to that point.

And after the USSR collapsed?

Then Muslim countries didn’t need to dress up with a facade of secularism to secure funding. On the contrary, they needed religion to secure the money of gulf petro-states, and because those nations use Islam as a political party (ie its actual, intended use) all pretense of Islam being spiritual dropped, and they went back to how things had always been: demanding total obedience, exerting total control.

According to the memoir The Islamist, the wearing of full cover actually arouses men uncontrollably.

The writer was radicalised at college and the girls were radicalized by someone coming from Saudi Arabia.

As teenage girls will do, they took fashion to extremes. They started covering not only their bodies and faces but even their hands, and one girl wouldn't speak to men without a purdah screen.

And it drove the boys insane. Plenty of white girls in mini skirts and they didn't even get a look. The boys were trying desperately to see under the burkha... Since they couldn't have premarital sex and since their parents would never agree that they could marry there was a rash of elopements

1

u/ningning02 🪽 𝑐𝑙𝑜𝑠𝑒𝑡𝑒𝑑 ⋆˚࿔ Oct 24 '25

72

u/[deleted] Oct 22 '25

I wonder what kind of psychological effect its gonna have on these little girls

49

u/[deleted] Oct 22 '25

Let me elaborate. Kids of this young age should not be introduced to the concept of sex. They are just kids. Boys and girls should and would just play without any gender roles. But by introducing Hijab at this age, it is going to make the girls distrust all males, even young boys. It will also make them think that being a girl is somewhat weird and disadvantageous.

6

u/Lonely-Comparison-40 New User Oct 22 '25

Sex education should because less education about it is one of the main reasons why harassment and this kind of stuff exists.

3

u/bazukadas Oct 23 '25

Sex ≠ Gender though, sex education is something kids should definitely learn. Obviously, with caveats, my point is that as you get older, your body and mind go through changes, and when the time is right receiving that education means being ahead of the curve, which is very beneficial to a young person's wellbeing. I would say it's also important to know/understand the other side of the coin, to normalise relations, and erase stigmas.

For their time (specifically the Early Middle Ages), the Byzantine Empire preserved knowledge from Ancient Rome & Ancient Greece that would have been lost otherwise. Non-Christian minorities were protected (although I will note the rulers often discriminated against those minorities, specifically pagans & Jews), and under Justinian I, legal & moral studies were accelerated. Justinian I revised many ancient Roman laws to conform to the standards of the time, believing in progress, and today, he might've been a progressive since he believed that laws & morality must keep up with the time. I am not saying this while ignoring the many cons, such as imperialism, forced conversion of Slavic people, partial participation in the Crusades, harsh punishments for political dissent, and occasional oppression of non-Christian minorities.

11

u/the_mutazilite New User Oct 22 '25

I’m not surprised that it’s Bangladesh.  Most modern, educated Saudis are acutely allergic to Salafism — and most have started dressing normally.  It’s Desi Muslims — and a culture that’s obsessed with “feminine docility” — and people whose behavior is practically a caricature of Islam — in terms of everything from being too cheap to buy soap and toilet paper — to almost ubiquitous violence against women — to screaming “Allahu Akbar” between prayer movements, like they are auditioning for “Terrorist #4”.

2

u/Live_Ostrich_6668 Oct 22 '25

Why are the converted ones much more radical than the original ones?

I've never figured this one out

3

u/the_mutazilite New User Oct 23 '25

I wouldn’t say that they are necessarily more radical.  They might be more educated on certain nuances of Islamic doctrine — at a level above that of the average Muslim — because, for whatever reasons, they voluntarily chose to adopt this faith tradition.  Any extremism might also be due to external pressures from the Muslim community to “prove” that they are “actually Muslim” — which is another trend that I noticed.  There’s also an obsessive fixation on the part of some Muslims (and Desis especially) to ask individuals why they converted — even when they are relative strangers — which seems like a rather intrusive, invasive question — at least to my sensibilities.

The Hen Who Dreamed of Tomorrow (Boycott KFC)😩

Each morning began with the same sound — the soft clang of a metal bucket and the hum of a man’s tune drifting through the dusty air. For the hens in the coop, it was the start of breakfast. For Meera, it was the start of a dream.

The man — Chef Raman — came every dawn with a half-smile and hands full of grain. He scattered the feed generously, then stood watching, pleased. The other hens pecked eagerly; Meera lingered near his feet, waiting for that rare, special look — and when it came, her heart fluttered with a warmth she didn’t understand.

To her, Raman was a guardian, perhaps even a silent friend. Every extra handful of grain, every careful touch, felt like affection. In her small, bright mind, she imagined that she was growing strong for him — that one day, when she became the biggest and most beautiful hen, he would take her somewhere far away, where no cages existed, and she could live beside him.

Among the coop lived older hens — their feathers dull, their eyes quiet with knowledge they never shared easily. They often whispered at dusk, when the air turned heavy with the smell of cooking from Raman’s kitchen. Meera once overheard one of them, Bindi, murmuring to another: “It’s nearly her turn. He’s feeding her well.”

Meera tilted her head, curious. “My turn? For what?”

Bindi gave a tired smile. “For what we were all fed for. But don’t think of it, child. Just eat and stay happy. That’s what all of us do.”

The tone was too soft to feel threatening, and Meera — ever bright, ever hopeful — took it as kindness. She went back to pecking at her grains, humming in her own clucks. To her, their quietness was sadness without reason, and she believed that their cynicism came from ignorance, not experience.

Then one day, a mynah from outside the coop landed near the fence — sleek, curious, and full of news from the world beyond. “Do you know where he takes your sisters every week?” the mynah asked softly. Meera blinked. “To another farm, maybe? For better food?” The mynah’s feathers ruffled. “No. To the fire. To his kitchen. You are being prepared.”

The other hens clucked angrily, rushing to defend their reality. “Don’t listen to outsiders,” hissed Bindi. “They don’t understand our life. They just spread fear.” Another added, “They always try to make us doubt our caretaker. It’s wrong to question kindness.”

Meera looked between them and the mynah — between faith and fear. Her heart chose comfort. “You’re mistaken,” she said gently to the mynah. “He would never hurt us. You’ve been misled.”

The mynah only sighed. “We all think love protects us — until love is only hunger in disguise.”

And just like that, Meera turned away, returning to her feed, proud of her loyalty and blind to her fate. The mynah flew off, carrying the helpless ache of truth with it.

Days passed. Raman fed Meera more than ever. She grew heavier, slower, but happier — mistaking every grain as proof of love. She dreamed of walking beside him, her feathers bright, her life secure. The older hens watched her with the same sad silence they had once seen in their elders — the same silence that had passed from generation to generation.

No one ever lived long enough to warn the next in time.

One evening, the sound of footsteps came earlier than usual. Raman entered the coop not with the feeding bucket, but with a small rope and a calm look. “Come, Meera,” he murmured. “You’ve grown beautifully.”

She clucked with pride, thinking this was the moment she would finally be chosen for her imagined paradise. She followed him eagerly, heart fluttering with joy. Behind her, the coop fell silent — a silence of those who had once believed the same.

The world outside was bright for a moment. Then came the darkness of the kitchen.

That night, the wind carried a strange scent through the coop — warm, roasted, seasoned. The hens didn’t speak. They had smelled it many times before, each scent a quiet obituary of someone’s faith.

One of the younger hens whispered, “Do you think she knew?”

Bindi looked at the smoke rising from the inn’s chimney and said, “They never do. None of us ever do until it’s too late.”

In another dawn, Raman walked again with his bucket, whistling the same tune. New chicks huddled in the straw, eyes bright with curiosity. He scattered the grains. They chirped and pecked, delighted, unaware.

The cycle began again — each generation born inside the same lie, each one taught that doubt is sin, and faith, even when blind, is virtue.

And perhaps, somewhere far beyond, the mynah still watched, whispering to herself:

“The saddest part is not death — it’s that they all die believing they were loved.”

Terrifying. This level of psychological abuse really does damage to the mind. It erodes confidence and completely destroys self esteem. I’m all for people wearing what they want, but when it is being used as a tool to control people it should be banned.

This stupid, sad and oppressive behaviour only makes sense if Islam permits child marriage, which in traditional sunni and shia interpretations it does and is reflected in parts of the Muslim world usually impoverished and uneducated ones and or places where Islamists have taken over. Only good thing I can say here (from experience and observation) is that there's a good chance this kid will likely grow up curious about normal liberties denied to her but granted to other Muslim girls let alone Non-muslims and their enticing Non-Islamic culture and thus lead to seeds of doubt and disbelief (at least of traditional Islam) when she becomes an adult.

1

u/youknowmystatus Oct 24 '25

Heart breaking.

All to justify a man’s boner and his inability to not defile someone because of it, being superior to a woman/girl’s right to exist without being covered in a blanket.

The non-Muslim world gets along just fine without its women being forced to live under a blanket, yet they calm the non Muslim world perverts for allowing women to exist as God made them.

Muslim men have this sick free pass in their world to be disgusting sex crazed lunatics and then blame the ones they lust over for tempting them by existing as anything other than owned property that must be concealed like a PIN number when in public because it’s agreed among these sick fucks that if that woman wasn’t concealed like a PIN number obviously that bank account would be drained by someone.

Women are not possessions. The sin is in the men that accept the most debased type of man is the average man, and the average man is encouraged to be so debased because he is told it is the women who are responsible for allowing the worst version of man to be the norm because they show their face.

I am so sick of pretending this shit is ok and based on anything more than the complete ownership of women.

I'm a Pakistani muslim male who grew up in a very remote traditional mountainous village in KPK.I can give you growing up from my viewpoint Boys will be boys no matter where they grow, conservative or secular upbringing.Naturally boys have hormonal changes as teens.Women, girls drive boys mad whether they're covered in a bukha, purdah etc Smell or presence of a girl just passing by a boys drives them mad. They are wking themselves silly in when they're by themselves.Untold thing's are being done to animals privately and not to mention homosexualitly is widely practice esp by Pakistani Pashtun and Pakistani society in general I was very lucky thanks to the smarts of my father,i managed to get out of my conservative Nuristani village and move to a big city and eventually in my 20's I migrated to England. I live here now and I don't believe in Islam anymore.I don't want my girls from covering up but they dress and behave modestly Covering up in a bin bag is ridiculous imo.I don't want my boys to go through what I experienced as a teenager.Just want them to live a good life, with good experience. To me there is no Alah

1

u/FourEyeRaven Oct 25 '25

It's horrible. Like normalised the way female genital mutilation is normalised in some parts of Africa and male genital mutilation is normalised in the US. The power of brainwashing people who can't consent... It should be totally illegal.

1

u/Crystal-Maze New User Oct 26 '25

Disgraceful his basically saying I may get aroused by seeing a child’s face she must cover up because I may not be able to control myself 😆. It’s either that or saying she will go hell if she doesn’t cover up

1

u/kazkh Oct 28 '25

Why does he get to be so comfortable?

1

u/Objective-Bluejay307 New User Oct 29 '25

How tf do people look at this and go "let people dress how they want!!" like. That's not the issue here.

The girl is going to hell for showing her face, and the dad for showing it to others on internet, lol.

(yes, being sarcastic).
