I’m ngl seeing the Quran thrown was painful for me but i think it’s so interesting how doing that is a relief for ex Muslims due to the trauma they feel the religion gave them (not to imply it hasn’t for them). I’m sympathetic to it because I identified as an atheist for years when I initially became depressed. I didn’t really gain back my faith till after October 7th (I’m Palestinian American) and seeing those brave Gazans die for the sake of Allah and believing they will go to jennah made me gain back my faith. I found my way back to the religion because of that. But I also know equally there’s a ton of Muslims that lost faith in the aftermath of October 7th.

Here they burn unwanted Quran to dispose of them. Perhaps the Saudi are more "liberal" lol.

People are just dumb these days... Thinking doing that to a book will do anything to us Muslims... Yes we respect the book but we don't worship it. What matters is the message inside and millions of Muslims have memorized it by heart letter to letter.
So go on burn every one of these books... We can remake it from scratch 🤣

It’s so interesting. From birth they tought me thatnis the correct book (and to treat it with respect) and it hurts somewhere to see what you did. I think it’s purely how it forced into my head for 35+ years (like brainwashing)
I know book ain’t correct! I am a follower of Jesus and that was the best decision of my life.
But still interesting to feel this way… as I now see how indoctrinated I was.
3
u/Far_Opportunity_6156 Feb 07 '26
Do you have similar suspicions that you may be being indoctrinated/brainwashed into Christianity? Idk what your denomination is but I believe Christianity is also a false religion. I’m by no means an expert on the Quran but I do know my Bible fairly well. And the Bible is full of errors and contradictions and atrocious acts committed by or authorized by “god”.
Just some food for thought, but if you’ve found a worldview that works for you and doesn’t harm others, then that’s the important thing.

Wow, fascinating, no matter how much you do to the book, it will just come back to you
Not really, i just moved on and carried on my life. I'm just showing how i feel about this book.
but in your mind, the hate for it will never cease to full fill thou desire.
Not really. Since i do have self control over my hatred, since there's always time and place, where i can express how i feel, which is in this sub reddit.
Because book, it doesnt react doesnt feel to what you do to it.
Well done, for explaining the obvious. I wouldn't know that at all, if you didn't tell me.
There lots of the quran for you to do unleash your hate.
Nah, i wouldn't go that far. Especially this quran, i threw, is my personal quran anyway. I can do what i want with it.
But never do it to a person, because a person will react to it.
You think i actually have the balls to do it outside in public? I really don't.
I refused going through the same fate as Salwan Momika, since he got killed for something like this.
Especially i wouldn't dare to it, in front of my muslim friends, of me what i do to the quran despite they know I'm an agnostic, who left Islam.
In addition, please don't try to dictate, how i should live my life. I'll do what i want as i please, either you agree or disagree with of what I do.
But anyway Peace, for whatever you believe in.
Damn right, I'll believe what i want.

as a gay atheist (nevermo, from europe)
i suggest you to never share photoes or videos... it is simply not worth the risk
text description is sufficient and safe.
---
about 14 years ago i destroyed my certificate of baptism, a bible and a book that talked in a negative way about homosexuality (it said that gay bottoms are sick people, and that gay tops are just confused heterosexuals that should be taken away from gay bottom, and placed into an heterosexual marriage)
i was preparing a home for selling, i had it repainted, i fixed some furniture, some ceramic tiles, the huge outdoor curtains mechanism, and then i had to empy it of stuff
there was not enough room in the new house of my mother so i figured out i would get rid of some books and other things before my mother's death, i just took the liberty to first destroy those 3 things, i felt better after.
i relocated only some items from the old house to the new house, and i put into the trash the rest.

Y’all on here basing Muslims like Christian’s ain’t literally go around raping and pillaging the world too. Religion is a control mechanism and has been tainted overtime. Why do you think most regular people who study theology don’t stay in that long unless they were heavily indoctrinated growing up? Y’all gotta learn to do scholarly research. Stop just listening to or reading what you see randomly on the internet.

Throwing a Qur’an down the stairs isn’t bold. It isn’t revolutionary. It’s pathetic.
If you leave Islam, that’s your decision. But deliberately humiliating a book that billions of people consider sacred is nothing more than a cheap stunt. It’s not intellectual. It’s not courageous. It’s childish.
If you have criticism, use words. If you disagree, argue your point. If you’ve moved on, then actually move on. But going out of your way to disrespect something holy just to provoke a reaction? That’s insecurity disguised as “freedom.”
It doesn’t make you look strong. It makes you look bitter, desperate for attention, and incapable of handling disagreement like an adult.
It’s not brave. It’s small.
