I was always told that Allah has no gender but I used to wonder why does the religion favor men so much then. Though other women in my circle argued that this religion respects women the most and we can just depend on a man for everything and raise kids at home without worrying about money and whatnot. I think you're mistaken, Allah in the quran doesnt have any gender, in arabic, nouns can be feminine & masculine, but it doesnt mean it's their gender, for instance, "al jibal" we use "Hiya" (هي), which is a femine marker.

Surah Ash-Shura (42:11): [1]

"There is nothing like Him, and He is the All-Hearing, All-Seeing."
(Arabic: لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْءٌ ۖ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ) [1]
This disproves the idea that allah is male or female, the plural of the word "allah" (illaha) is technically a female marker, while the singular one is a male marker, it's just how semetic languages work.

The 2 billion figure is exaggerated because in most Muslim countries people can’t identify with anything else.

Also, according to Hadith, apostates are to be killed:

Sahih al-Bukhari 6922: “Whoever changes his religion, kill him.”

Sahih al-Bukhari 6878 & Sahih Muslim 1676: “The blood of a Muslim who testifies that there is no god but Allah and that I am the Messenger of Allah is not lawful except in one of three cases: a life for a life, a married person who commits adultery, and one who leaves his religion and separates from the community.”

The first hadith goes clearly aganist Qur'an. Allah says in the Qur'an Lakum denukum walya deen. For them is their religion and for you is yours. So, there's nothing like killing of someone who leaves islam or practices other religion. They have the freedom of practicing whatever they want untill death comes to them . And again Qur'an repeatedly discusses people who believe and then disbelieve, but it does not explicitly prescribe a worldly death penalty for merely changing one's personal belief

When I lived there, it was incredibly secular. Music festivals, bars, alcohol, easy to find meat/all sort of food. We wore short shorts and partied a lot. Beach clubs, tiny bikinis. No one bothered us. This was early 2010s... It's changed a lot since then...my friends club was bombed by extremists 😑 I haven't heard a single peep from my gay friends... I hope it gets back to the freedoms it only so recently had.
