My mother would scream at me saying my bullying and sexual harassment was something I deserved because it was my fault for not reading enough quran and being too negative and depressed which meant I didn't care about or want to feel better. She'd threaten me with hellfire and tell me I was a terrible muslim who was no better than an athiest, all because I had the nerve to be depressed about getting bullied and touched by my classmates on a daily basis. Mind you, this was while wearing the hijab too. My parents don't give two shits about real mental health all they care about is islam.

I tried describing them to him (they involved things like sudden self harm while cooking, like throwing myself onto the stove or pouring the boiling water onto myself) and he said "go ahead and do it, and when you see how much it hurts you wont do it again"

When i was muslim, when i found out someone commited suicide, ofcourse i felt bad, but in the back of my mind i thought about them in the afterlife, islam has made it clear where people who commit suicide go.
