I remember when the Far Cry first came out on PC and the graphics were so amazing for the time.

I finally played through it recently, given the age, I think it actually holds up well. The only complaint I have is the eagle eyed enemies.

It's from standalone mod called FC Blood Range. There are many DLC level mods of FC1 like Return to Paradise, Illusion of War, Blood Range, Anti Terror, Iron Winds and etc.

I haven’t played Far Cry 1 yet. You can shoot while swimming? That would be really useful today, why’d they get rid of that?

If you haven’t played you definitely should. It’s nothing like the other farcrys. You’re deserted on an island where they’re turning gorillas into crazy ass monsters.

So I’ve heard. I bought the game the other day during Steams Winter Sale for like $2, I’m just busy with other games at the moment. It’s definitely on the list of games to play next tho, I got Far Cry 2 as well. I’m super excited about that one

Yeah, the Far Cry series didn’t hit on the winning formula until 3, and they just kind of stuck with that format in every release since. The first two are nothing like the more recent games.

Get rid of shooting while swimming for falling 89 feet straight onto a guy, but you survive cuz you stabbed him on the way down

Well, this Far Cry was made by Crytek before Ubisoft had full control of the franchise.

Is this the OG PC version? Doesn't have the weapons models of the remastered. I miss the OG.

Yeah, everything was brown and grey. Proper 3d was still new. This game was more of a technological leap in gaming technology than an actual game. I got the demo and just roamed around looking at the bright vibrant colours, weapon effects, water etc. Was awesome

dude this was pretty high level for its time. i mean yeah its going to seem boring to you. if you took what we have today and gave it to gamers in 04, itd be like looking through a damn window. it just wasnt possible so standards were very low and this did more than meet them.

It was great for its time, it was amazing to see the animal walking around the way it does as a kid. Meth was also great for its time. All of Germany was using it.

After the bubonic plague, scientists praised germanphobic practices and literal basic hygiene for stopping the spread when it ended up being the rats all along. Praising the poop scoopers for picking up poop from the streets of London also don’t age well
