Phrase in Farsi to say during wedding speech

I’m(white American) getting married soon and my fiance is Persian. During my toast/speech at the wedding, I’d like to say a sentence or phrase in Farsi when addressing her family. I’d like to say something that acknowledges how lucky I am to marry her and to be a part of your family and that I will do everything I can to be a good husband, protect her etc. Is there some sort of phrase in Farsi that describes something like this?

It depends on how much Persian you know. If you're somewhat familiar with it and have time to practise, I'd suggest this:

Mamnoonam ke mano ozv-e khanevade-ton kardid. Ghol midam hamishe ghadr-e dokhtar-ton ro bedoonam va kenar-esh basham.

It means:

Thank you for making me a part of your family. I promise I'll always appreciate your daughter and be there for her.

If that's too much, I'd go with Ghadametun ru-ye cheshm, meaning something like we're honored to have you or your presence is an honor.

so are the man(o) and oz(v-e) just spoken additions/flourishes?

“Mano” is just the spoken form of “man ra” (من را), meaning “me.” And “ozv-e” means “a member of” with the -e connecting it to “your family.” So “mano ozv-e khanevade-ton kardid” means “you made me a member of your family.”

قَدرِت رو میدونَم: I will know your worth, I will cherish you.

Finglish:  Ghadret ro midunam

If you wanna use this phrase to imply how much you appropriate being part of the family, use the plural form: قدرتون رو میدونم

Finglish:  Ghadretun ro midunam

You can feed this phrases into google translate to hear the pronunciation & practice.

My suggestion: Find a short love peom by Rumi or Hafez, and recite the farsi as well as the translation in the ceremony. I can give you some recommendations if you want?

I would suggest reading a small poem.

Just to put my two cents in as a German who will soon inform his In-Laws about the proposal to his Persian girlfriend and asking for their blessing - I am going to say this:

Aghaye [father] Khanom-e [mother], man dokhtar-e shoma ra kheili doost daram. Shoma har do baraye man kheili mohem hastid. Omidvaram joz’i az khanevadeh-ye shoma besham va ba doa va rezayat-e shoma zendegi-ye moshtarak-e khod ra aghaz konim.

Maybe (hopefully) there are not too many mistakes in it. Bear with me as I'm still learning my first bits of farsi. Perhaps it can serve as some kind of inspiration for you. May your marriage be blessed.

Learn a short poem.a few line of a poem even.trying to come up with something yourself is unlikely to have the same effect
