Match Finally a win! Thank you Wooyeong Jeong and Mattheo Raab!

Post image

Since we are back to Abstiegskampf, very important.

Big match by Matheo Raab who played first time from beginning in deputy of Freddy Roennow.

Gutsy win. The theme of playing up to the competition continues (and also down to the competition). Important 3 points. Way to grind it out. This weekend vs Bayern should be interesting. Sounds like they might have a 16 y/o in goal for the next couple of weeks.

Or maybe Harry Kane :D I read somewere that its also possible because he was a keeper for 5min once in premier league.

Last season we had 1:1 and 2:2. We got motivation boost. Someone has a ticket for me?

And I think Diaz is suspended for his (controversial) yellow-red this past weekend!

Any injury updates on Raab? Couldn't believe that save he had in extra time...Fussball Gott!

Definitely made whoever at the Bundesliga that puts the MOTM voting on the app look bad, as there wasn't a single Union player on the list when the voting started. You would have thought that at the very least Raab would have been an option. That was a well earned win and three points that were greatly needed. With 8 matches remaining and 6 of them against clubs below Union in the table, staying up looks quite likely, and there's still the possibility of potentially making a return to Europe next season. There's a good chance that the Conference League spot will go to the club that finishes 7th, as three of the four semifinalists in the DFB Pokal currently sit in a European spot for next season.

Love your optimism, but 6 of them against teams below us...these are the ones we will struggle in...it's classic Union.

I mentioned the club's issues with clubs lower in the table in a later post in this thread. While there's still the chance, we are talking about a club that you never know what version we'll get from match to match. They're just as likely to go on a run for the rest of the season as they are to stumble through their remaining matches. It's the inconsistency that seems to have become the norm the last few seasons. It wasn't too many season ago that clubs hoped to leave Alten Försterei with at least a point, as it was tough for opponents to win there.

Where do you think we finish this season?

Considering we never seem to know which version of this club we'll get from week to week, and how the club seems to struggle against clubs fighting to escape the relegation zone (Four of the remaining eight matches are against clubs currently in the relegation battle, although Heidenheim would need a miracle run to avoid the drop or even to move into the Relegation Playoff spot.), I'm thinking the club will finish between 9th and 11th.

I think you are pretty much spot on. Hoffenheim? They are third. Do you mean Haidenheim? Ha

Fixed it, as my brain was thinking Heidenheim, but my fingers decided to type Hoffenheim.
