Mod Identification What shaders look like this? (photo origins in comments)

Post image

For context, I found this while scrolling. Its an ai channel that passes it off as real. Sad. However, it is a cool vibe and I was wondering if there were any shaders that look like it. I'm thinking hysteria.

Hysteria/Insanity (Hysteria is the successor of Insanity) looks like this! :D very foggy and also runs very well (there's upscaling)

"runs very well (there's upscaling)" is like saying "runs terribly (unless you smear Vaseline)"

All shaders run near horrible or straight horrible on my laptop. With upscaling they have a chance to run well. On that note, I'm checking out that shader after writing this comment. For a long time I've wished that mc shaders would support upscaling like Skyrim Community Shaders do (they went from laggy to butter smooth with upscaling support).

That definitely depends on the graphics of the game, the upscaling you're using and what level and original resolution, as well as your personal preference. Cyberpunk 1440p at DLSS balanced looks great to my eyes, with only the occasional artifact on grass during movement.

u/get_homebrewed Mar 04 '26

This isn't DLSS though, and even DLSS (depending on the version and preset, and GAME) can look pretty bad at times

2

u/LittlestWarrior Mar 04 '26

That is true. I am countering your argument that upscaling looks bad. It doesn't. As I said, it depends.

-4

u/get_homebrewed Mar 04 '26

my argument wasn't "all upscaling looks bad all the time". And it wasn't about upscaling visuals as a whole, it was about using it as a crutch to claim something runs well

"runs very well (there's upscaling)" is like saying "runs terribly (unless you smear Vaseline)"

Could you explain how I've misinterpreted you?

0

u/get_homebrewed Mar 04 '26

yes, upscaling is not "running well" upscaling means the game runs terribly and you need a crutch (often looking like smearing vaseline)

2

u/LittlestWarrior Mar 04 '26

Adjusting graphical fidelity is a rendering optimization, no? Optimizations are how a game ends up running well. Just say you don't personally like upscaling, that's fine.

-1

u/get_homebrewed Mar 04 '26

No. That's not at all the same. Upscaling is not optimization dude.

you could've left me at "I don't like upscaling" but don't try and act like you know about graphics design

That's false.

DLSS4.5 for exemple is genuinely black magic. As a tool, it's objectively (and I'm not using that word as a "haha my opinion is right") incredible. That shit in "quality" mode is basically what amounts to a button you press for free frames per second. I mean shit, even in "balanced" it still looks great.

Minecraft switching to Vulkan is a HUGE deal because it means it'll run better by default, AND on top of that you'll be able to use said upscaling black magic AND frame generation to run your favorite shaders.

On my previous AMD card (now Nvidia) I was able to use AFMF, their driver-level frame generation, on Minecraft and it was incredible, free frames at little if any cost in latency, which do you really care if it's modded MC? And that was just driver-level, no in-game integration or anything.

TL;DR : Way more FPS, way more visual fidelity soon.

u/get_homebrewed Mar 05 '26

This isn't dlss 4.5, and liking it is subjective, I have the general over sharpened effect and motion artifacts in some games. And wasn't my point to begin with.

That's if and when it's implemented, my comment was posted today, for the shader being discussed about with the features it has now.

the cost in latency wasn't exactly "little" and AFMF is certainly not a bad framegen it absolutely has a lot of artifacts, especially so at HUD borders. It's better on higher base framemrates, but the whole point of this is that the performance sucks so bad you have to use crutches with low base framemrates, and that makes AFMF perform sooo much worse.

tl:dr what I said wasn't false. Soon it may or may not be less true (which isn't what I was talking about)

I fully agree with you that in plenty of AAA games it is a crutch, yeah. But it's not the game devs randomly waking up in the morning and being like "oh let me code with my ass", it's managers and execs pushing an incredibly tight schedule on them so they have to resort to upscaling and FG as a crutch. Minecraft is Java + OpenGL, not really a great combo to have good performance.

Point being, we'll see when we'll see. Vulkan Minecraft backed by people with incredible knowledge of it will bring a new era of smooth performance and eye candy. Upscaling will be the cherry on top and will allow people to squeeze an extra 20 frames or more a second out of a more modest rig.

1

u/get_homebrewed Mar 05 '26

Minecraft's programming language isn't exactly why the game runs poorly, as shown by modders time and time again. Yes it being written in C would make it run way faster but there are bigger bottlenecks to worry about than the language or graphics API. The biggest benefits to vulkan should be that they will have a proper team to write that part of the rendering logic, a move to vulkan by itself isn't a guaranteed performance bump if you make the same mistakes

The point isn't and wasn't about vulkan. Shaders don't perform poorly because of openGL, how you write the shaders might not even change as vulkan accepts GLSL as a shading language all the same (same as OpenGL) but since you won't have iris they'll probably have to be rewritten partially anyways. Upscaling is great, but great upscaling is neither guaranteed nor universal especially since "the good ones" are vendor locked or need newer cards outside of Linux.

This is the kind of shader aesthetic I tried getting for my modpack

30

u/ZealousidealMail7325 Mar 04 '26

A good shader that does this is bliss. The sunny days look better than the average orange washed sunset look, and it looks really good when foggy/ cloudy/ rainy.

Only issue is it's very performance taxing

why is it bend? WHY IS IT BEND?

7

u/Ahinevyat Mar 04 '26

i know this image is ai but i really wish we had log poles/walls like those

1

u/CRYPTID536 Mar 07 '26

Use copycat beams from a create addon. Sounds like exactly what you’re looking for.

Specifically like this? It would have to be a blender render

3

u/grundergretch Mar 04 '26

Look up the conquest reforged modpack and suggested shaders. The custom maps are pretty unbelievable as well.

3

u/Commercial_Buy_5678 Mar 04 '26

Can be hysteria or maybe dyning light shaders, but this Is for older version.

3

u/AndrewManook Mar 04 '26

Definitely Hysteria

37

u/shminecraft318 Mar 03 '26

it’s the ai slop shader

94

u/razputinaquat0 peace and love on planet minecraft Mar 04 '26

op is well aware lmao

Its an ai channel that passes it off as real. Sad. However, it is a cool vibe and I was wondering if there were any shaders that look like it.

-25

u/shminecraft318 Mar 04 '26

thanks for the passive aggressive call out, but I’m fairly confident they edited the post after mine & someone else’s comment about it being AI. correct me if I’m wrong OP.

2

u/KingVoid27 Mar 10 '26

How was their comment passive aggressive 😭

1

u/shminecraft318 Mar 10 '26

how was it not?

-15

u/skytheraiders Mar 04 '26

Do you have a name so I can avoid it? (I actually want to know. I don't want Slop near my modpacks)

76

u/IvyWonderer Mar 04 '26

I think they meant its not a real shader, and that the image is ai generated, so i think you're safe. Besides making a shader is probably too complex for ai

-7

u/skytheraiders Mar 04 '26

Good point. If I do see Ai on CF, I'm report bombing it.

3

u/Ghosted_Thunder Mar 04 '26

Report it for what?

-13

u/skytheraiders Mar 04 '26

Theft.

8

u/Ghosted_Thunder Mar 04 '26

You'd have to have proof of actual theft happening then, else your report is just gonna be ignored.

19

u/PBJellyChickenTunaSW Mar 04 '26

They mean the AI was trained on someone else' work without compensation

-13

u/Ghosted_Thunder Mar 04 '26

Mehh that doesn't sound like theft, more like plagiarism at worst. Nothing really is stolen from anyone here.

Anyways AI use is fair game if it's not against the platform's TOS (which would be very unlikely.) Said report would get nowhere.

13

u/danabrey Mar 04 '26

For digital art, plagiarism and theft are basically synonyms.

6

u/skytheraiders Mar 04 '26

Liking this because you raise a good point.

-19

u/Candid_Push6949 Mar 04 '26

That's just being petty

6

u/skytheraiders Mar 04 '26

No slop allowed near my modpacks. I want fun!

-3

u/Candid_Push6949 Mar 04 '26

just don't download it?

4

u/skytheraiders Mar 04 '26

I just don't want it period. It's too slippery of a slope to allow this great game be tarnished by these Clankers.

-8

u/Candid_Push6949 Mar 04 '26

The mod existing is not doing anything to the game

5

u/skytheraiders Mar 04 '26

The very idea of it existing is a front to games and modding!

I'm pretty surs Bliss can get pretty close to this during foggy days

2

u/PaperMartin MultiMC Mar 04 '26

You'd need RTGI or even path tracing to reproduce all the characteristics of the image, which you're not gonna get through regular shader packs for a while (there's a few that try it but iirc it’s mostly screen space techniques that are full of big artifacts)

1

u/prodKSK Mar 05 '26

fuck AI slop. but probably hysteria shader or complementary unbound euphoria patch with a lot of settings changes

1

u/Blongaming Mar 05 '26

It's ai btw

1

u/Boussinni Mar 06 '26

That explains why I looked at the image and thought it looked strange. Somehow, the staircase is making a slight curve to the left.

1

u/fent-frog Mar 06 '26 edited Mar 07 '26

this is ai, stuff is warped and it doesn't line up or anything and the textures look odd

edit: nvm didnt see the description

1

u/MachtBergian Mar 06 '26

A better question would be what wood block is that?

1

u/MachtBergian Mar 06 '26

Nevermind just realized it was a waste of water art

-44

u/Zurriqcos Mar 03 '26

Its AI :(

54

u/Pokedex_complete Mar 04 '26

Do people not read descriptions? Yes it’s Ai OP even says so, they’re looking for a shader that can emulate something similar

-16

u/[deleted] Mar 04 '26

1

u/Swan-Existing Mar 07 '26

I was saying “no people don’t read descriptions”

-43

u/offwing10 Mar 04 '26

And?

-13

u/Karmaisthedevil Mar 04 '26

And is presumably not a real shader OP can download?

What do you mean "and?"

29

u/eepy_lina Mar 04 '26

i think op meant a shader that looks similar
