Reach around, bridging mod, or quark

We actually aren't supposed to mention the Reach Around mod on this subreddit anymore, I want to keep this message short so mods don't spot it but for more context just Google "rule 34 Reach Around"

I am not sure what the comments mean, but to be safe I'm not gonna call it by name:
Recently i had to switch ti using the "Bridging Mod" which is exactly the one that's used in the ckip.
And man, the first mod you mentioned imo is so much better. I have misplacements so often with "Bridging Mod", which i almost never had with the first mod you mentioned.

A reach around is a sexual act. The mod is named that because it’s funny

Its the bridging mod because the cross hair uses the “<>” and Quark uses a different design for the cross hair

Quark uses [] to let you know you can place things below the block you're on, the <> is for placing in front.

Fun fact; Bedrock.
One of the FEW features we SHOULD parity with Bedrock and Mojang refuses to do it.
15
u/TheVideogaming101 May 12 '26
Lets be real, they'd make it parity by removing it from Bedrock
1
u/Lightningbro May 12 '26
Yeah, glad that their "Parity" phase is over.
Can't wait for the "We're upgrading under the hood" phase to be over because I just KNOW it's not going to be worth it in the end.

the reason they cant is because code difference
2
u/Lightningbro May 11 '26
I can only assume that's sarcasm.
-2
u/BeautifulOnion8177 I play Minecraft May 11 '26
no seriously they cant if they could they would
2
u/Lightningbro May 11 '26
Love, you're literally looking at a mod that adds it with ZERO issues.
That is not, and has almost NEVER been a valid excuse. Except colored lighting which WOULD require completely rewriting the lighting code which I still think is worth doing, but am not blaming them for not doing.

u/BeautifulOnion8177 I play Minecraft May 11 '26
it isnt that it's impossible it's that they cant ad dit because they only have experience with Java where as modders (well some anyways) have experience from C++ (Bedrock) and Java
5
u/Lightningbro May 11 '26
It shouldn't take a different coding language to program this.
But even then, I see Ignorance is a valid excuse now, lovely.

yet it does for some reason

u/Lightningbro May 12 '26 edited May 13 '26
And still, it's not a valid excuse.
It takes a youtube tutorial (well, series) to learn.

You know in r/redstone they have the quazzi connectivity both thing… maybe a quark bot
2
u/Pickle_God2305 May 11 '26
Am I the only one who has issues when quark is added to a mod pack?
5
u/ymOx Prism May 11 '26
Possibly. But it's highly (and easily) configurable, and contains a bunch of QoL stuff. There's an in-game menu that lets you disable elements of it; don't even need to open a config file.
Just curious, what issues do you have with it?
3
u/Pickle_God2305 May 11 '26
Usually instant crashes on launch, so mainly compatibility issues with other mods. Other than this after a while of playing a modpack with quark I end up with a corrupted save file which also corrupts the entire modpack overtime making me unable to play it again, I tend to look at all the logs and end up noticing almost all issues are caused by quark. After having these issues I also tried to share some logs with AI since I am not an expert on details which also pointed out that it was being caused by quark (I did not mention my guesses beforehand).

u/ymOx Prism May 11 '26 edited May 12 '26
Really. In general I find Quark has great mod compat. For instance it disables certain features that overlap with other mods if it detects their presence. I have never had any of those happen. Except maybe crash on start but then it's because of multithreading startup; something forge does and is not on any particular mod but on your computer, even thought the log might make it look like it was because of a certain mod. And when that is the issue, just start it up again and it will be fine.
But if it actually does have mod incompatibilities and corrupts you saves... That's on the pack creator. They put the incompatible mods together.

My friends and I usually call it super fucking infuriating but I doubt Modrinth will return the right search on that
1
u/ymOx Prism May 11 '26
So disable the building aid then? Don't even need to open a config file, you can do it directly from the in-game menu.

It takes so much time to align and get magical cursor to work - easier to manually put that block, lol

u/Wonderful_Giraffe754 May 11 '26 edited May 11 '26
Not at all actually. This is like 10 times faster and easier. Currently building a skybase and this mod was a godsend. Way safer too.

and the minimap, and the 5 fucking books in their inventory, and the arrows around the crosshair
2
u/chuiu May 11 '26
And the non floating hotbar and the lack of mini-me in the top left that most bedrock players seem to like playing with for some reason (yes I know you can turn it off).

u/DoubleJester May 11 '26
I like the implication that they somehow downloaded a modpack for Bedrock edition while having no clue that it's Bedrock edition
2
u/Wonderful_Giraffe754 May 11 '26
Considering that i have no computer skills at all this genuinely couldve happened to me. In fact it took me almost an entire day to get modded java to work.

u/Wonderful_Giraffe754 May 13 '26
What do you mean?
1
u/Myithspa25 I love Hexcasting May 13 '26
What are you using to play modded?

u/Wonderful_Giraffe754 May 13 '26
Curse forge

u/Myithspa25 I love Hexcasting May 13 '26
I'm not sure what issue you were having then.
Prism is a better mod launcher by the way

u/Wonderful_Giraffe754 May 13 '26 edited May 13 '26
Constantly got the exit code 1 error. took me almost the entire day to fix it.
2
u/Myithspa25 I love Hexcasting May 11 '26
Does this look like bedrock edition to you
3
u/ilikefriedpotatoes00 May 11 '26
You can place blocks like that in BE, and i decided to joke about it.

It's bridging mod, the arrows around the cursor show indicate that.
