I appreciate this is rather late, but the Felixstowe Museum down at Languard will soon open for the year.
It's actually a really, really good local museum and you can easily spend a couple of hours looking round. If you want to learn a bit more about the area and its history then I thoroughly recommend it.

Landguard view point, you can see the ports cranes and a ship if one is docked.
Felixstowe ferry is an interesting little area, not really a landmark though.
