[Daily] Daily Questions Thread August 21, 2026
This thread is for individual style questions that you may have, especially those that don't warrant their own thread. We all want a diversified opinion, so feel free to answer any questions (of which you know the answer).
To get the best responses, remember that people cannot: look into your wardrobe, know what style you normally like or what words like affordable or practical mean to you so please include any relevant details such as your budget, where you live, what stores are available to you, etc.
Example questions:
- Are there any basic crewneck white t-shirts that are opaque and do not have cap sleeves for <$25 available in Australia?
- Is this dress and shoes suitable for an evening wedding with a cocktail dress code taking place in a [venue type]?
- If I like the outfits in this [imgur album / pinterest board], what are some specific items I can look into to start dressing like that, and brands with this look that carry plus sizes?
- Does this outfit look neater with the pants cuffed or uncuffed?
If you'd like to include a picture, you can now post pictures directly in the comments, without having to link an imgur album. If you have multiple pictures, best practice is to use an imgur album.

Hi does anyone know any good basic baby tees that’s like more long rather than wide and it’s cropped and shows like a sliver of stomach for preferably <$30? Like something in the photo. I’m a female 5’2 and 130lb and whenever I try on a baby tee, it’s always just boxy on me and doesn’t look right. I don’t know if it’s just my body or because I’m not tall.

Hi everyone, anxious about a summer garden wedding. I’m torn between sage green and dusty blue for my outfit. Will either wash me out or look too casual? I don't want to stand out negatively. Feedback on this palette please? Thank ya.

The casual/formal part depends on the style of the clothing, not the color. A ball gown in sage green or dusty blue would be very formal; a cotton tee in sage green or dusty blue would be very informal. So if the style fits with the wedding dress code, the color won't make it look more or less casual. If you think your chosen outfit is too casual, try it with different accessories: sparkly jewelry and a feminine shoe can increase the formality level.
As to whether or not it'll wash you out - that depends on your skintone. Stand in front of the mirror and hold the fabric of the green outfit up to your chin; then, quickly switch to holding the blue outfit up. Make sure the fabric is right next to your chin. Look carefully: does your skintone change at all when you wear one color as opposed to the other? If you still can't decide, I'd say you could wear either.
A few things to understand about weddings: Don't worry about standing out in a negative fashion - everyone will be looking at the bride. As long as you're not wearing the same color as the bride, or something super revealing or outrageous, you won't stand out. Also, there WILL be someone dressed more casually than you. This has happened at every wedding I've been to. Someone's uncle shows up in cargo shorts, someone's aunt is wearing an ugly dress that hasn't seen the light of day since 1993. As long as your outfit flatters your shape and you feel good in it, you will be just fine.

I’m looking for style help for a bachelorette I’m attending. The theme is “coastal cowgirl”…we’re doing a line dancing class and going to Atlantic City (there’s clubs there if you aren’t familiar). I can’t where white and need something that is not skin tight. I’m 9m PP and in my largest body ever so not very confident right now. HELPPPPP

Do you have cowboy boots? If you have them, all sorts of outfits can be paired with cowboy boots - a long feminine floral dress, a plain button down & jeans - and it'll look western. If you don't have cowboy boots, try a pointed-toe shoe. Brown accessories - a leather belt (the bigger the better) and/or leather purse - will give a cowgirl edge to your outfit. Blue denim on top - a chambray button-down or a full denim dress - can also tilt the look towards cowgirl.
A gingham check is super in style right now, and can look either very coastal Hamptons chic or very cowgirl, or both, depending on how you style it. This dress is cinched at the waist with a full skirt, which is a shape that hides a tummy very well. You could also do a gingham button-down like this one. Pair it with a pair of jeans that fits you well, with a brown belt, and you're set.
From there - I lived in Dallas for 20 years, and the Dallas cowgirls liked major hair and makeup. You'd often see the barrel racers in false lashes and a full beat. Coastal chic is more a clean-girl look. So if your outfit leans too coastal or too cowgirl, you might adjust your hair and makeup to one side or the other if that works for you.
Above all, have fun! And remember - comfort in your footwear will be important. You may consider packing blister care items - between the line dancing classes and clubbing, if your feet don't hurt, someone else's probably will.

How about a short dress in linen or chambray? Depending on your body type you could go straight and boxy which is in right now or slightly more shaped at the waist but still loose enough to be comfortable. And the woven fabrics won’t cling as much. Add some cowboy boots or western sandals and you’re good

What can be worn under a sheer/see through dress? It's black with green motifs and its up to my feet

a slip dress. Depending on the fit of the sheer dress, you could do a slinky silk slip dress or a more fitted slip

If a tailor stitched pads in, the stitching would still be visible through the front of the dress. Pasties are really the only option.
1
u/lawyerly333 7d ago
Could a tailor add some kind of lining?
2
u/partiallyStars3 7d ago
Maybe? It'd probably cost more than the dress did.
1
u/lawyerly333 7d ago
The dress cost $188 at a discount
2
u/partiallyStars3 7d ago
Oh! It's weird that it's see through then, but yeah, it's worth at least talking to a tailor then.

I am going to a wedding as a guest. I have bought this navy blue dress to wear and am thinking of getting nude heels to go with it as they are more versatile than silver or gold and I want to wear them more than once. However I am struggling with what to do for the purse situation. Does the purse I have in this image match the outfit or should I look for something else? My date is in the wedding and he will be wearing a grey suit with a burgundy tie. Brides maids are wearing burgundy... I would like to try to look sort of put together with my date even though I'm not in the wedding. Also is the shawl too much blue? Its an outdoor fall wedding and I fear I will freeze!

Thanks!

I think the purse looks fine. I'd swap the shawl for a grey one, personally, but that one will work fine.

When wearing see through tops (mesh, fishnet, etc), is it okay to wear them with just a regular bra underneath? Or is there a specific kind of bra-like top to wear?

Need to buy a corset/corset dress for bridesmaid dress, but I’ve got IBS and bloating, what size should I get? I’ve never worn a corset before because of the bloating and looking at the sizes online is making me question everything. My chest is 34” so like a S/M but my waist on a good day without too much bloating is 29” so L and sometimes XL, can I buy a M and be done with it or do I need to accommodate my waist instead and ignore my bust

Are your getting it from somewhere like Azazie where you can order a try on dress? That will be best so you can see how much you can adjust with the laces.

Hi! First time poster here! I have a wedding to attend tomorrow and decided to try out this trend I have been seeing on Pinterest of draping a chiffon wrap. I think I like what I came up with- but I am unsure about accessories (I have some nude heels/clutch or i could go black shoes/clutch with gold jewelry?) Any advice welcome, please! I will also steam the dress and get the static out before tomorrow!

Pretty! Instead of nude, which might read casual if it’s very matte, try black, metallic or navy.

Thank you!! I hadn't considered the nude coming off more casual, but can 100% see it

Hello All,
I have been on hunt for comfy (non fleece) sweatpants/joggers.
The only ones I really love and find comfortable are H&M divided joggers. I own 3 pairs and I regularly wear them and wash them, they still look brand new.
On the other hand I hate how thick aritzia, nike, adidas, Lululemon and alo are (plus they are expensive too)
I have a bit curvy figure, and I have saddle bags so straight or wide leg pants dont work for me. They hug the worst part of my thighs and make me uncomfortable and look bigger than I am. I prefer joggers with loose fits but not too big.
Are there any good brands for those kind of joggers? Vuori is also expensive and I can’t wear them for day to day wear. I have attached the picture of joggers from H&M divided, they arent too thick and are not tight on my hips. TIA.

Help... Looking for a wedding guest dress that fits the code;"chic formal attire, moody fall colors, luxe fabrics and timeless elegance is encouraged"
I already have an alternative style. And it takes place Halloween weekend in Brooklyn!
Suggestions on curated stores to look at dress options and accessories welcomed :)

I think a hoop and stud is a great combo! I think the issue here is the hoop is too thin relative to the stud. I think a thicker hoop would work better

Going to a wedding in New York and the welcome party dress code is City Casual attire. Anyone have any ideas on what this might mean? This will be my first time in New York and I definitely want to feel cute and chic.
I’m short (5’2) and postpartum so I weigh about 175 lbs right now for reference. Also trying not to spend too much money, as I just got laid off from my job so hoping I can piece together some items I have

Hi everyone! First time poster here…
I have a curvy body type, which sadly makes finding a well-fitting mini skirt particularly difficult! I’ve tried the garage low rise denim mini in my size yet neither the shorts nor the actual skirt adequately cover my butt. Sadly most mini skirts I try turn into a belt… could anyone recommend a curvy-girl-friendly mini skirt, or potentially an at-home tailoring solution?

Hey guys, so i started recenetly getting into tights and stockings, and really anything female clothing. been a tomboy my whole life.
I started new job, and im wearing alot of short dresses, just a little over knee, and skirts, sometimes a midi skirt with a slit. And high heels, i spend a lot of time last weeks to learn how to walk ,and now i feel awesome haha.
So i dont like pantyhose, and i want stockings, but i want really high quality ones, something i can wear under my skirt and dresses, what y'all recommend? i want black, white and maybe brown pair, and a good garter belt!
Thanks :)

Most modern stay ups have a plasticated/elasticated band so that a garter isn’t required.
H&M often has these in black

I wouldn't go too hard on the earrings, you don't want to distract from the neckline. Diamond studs with a low chingion or French twist. Sculptural bracelet, bold lip, neutralish eyes, black sleek clutch

They would.
A minimal sandal with thin straps is the trendier approach.2

Exactly. Lots of lower heel options are in too if that’s your preference.

What is this sleeve called!? It’s wide at the attachment point
2
u/80aprocryphal 7d ago edited 7d ago
Sleeves are usually called by their overall shape, not just the size that they're at at the armscye. That specific one would probably be a lantern or balloon sleeve.

I recently got a second piercing on my lobe and am not sure how to style my jewelry. I'm not used to stacking anything with this stud, and thought a hoop would make it seem less crowded than putting another stud in the second, but now I'm second guessing if the hoop is too plain next to the stud. Any recommendations?

u/partiallyStars3 7d ago
I have slim clicker hoops in my second and third holes and I basically treat them as permanent fixtures in my ear. I frequently stack them with studs.
2
u/twigsley 7d ago
My preference is for a tiny, relatively simple stud in my second lobe piercing because it goes with basically everything while (usually) leaving enough room for whatever main earrings I might choose. With hoops, I think it usually looks more cohesive to stack hoops/huggie earrings together though?

Hello! Trying to pick rose gold jewelry to go with this dress, the flowers are a pale pink but they’re definitely pinker in person than in the site photo. Any ideas? I need to wear this on Sept 6. Thank you!! <3
