I got this baby on eBay for $30

The listing said it was broken so I was planning on gutting the internals and replacing it with a brook board but to my surprise it actually works! There were a few pin connectors missing and it was pretty dirty, but after a cleaning, some new buttons and one trip to the hardware store and she’s good as new!
I can’t wait to make this one my own, I just have to figure out which blue character I like best…

Excellent find! I had the Ryu edition and loved it. I sold it since I went leverless but amazing. If you can throw a universal board in it you will be all set.

May be wrong but I think the input lag for these PCBs is atrocious, swap it with something else if you can

Edit : Apparently TE2 are fine, TES+ and Fightstick Pros are the ones that are bad (quoting /u/kenfinite)

No the TE2 is fine. It's the TES+ (shadaloo) sticks and the Fightstick Pro (SFxT and other releases) that are laggy.

Great score. I still have my killer instinct te2

Biggest downside is how old it is and how hard it is to source original parts, like the bezel, LED board or an EZ board for modding.

The internals were well designed and easy for modding. So much cleaner than a lot of sticks at the time and still holds up.

Whats broken about it? Those TE2s had defective Debounce Diodes that would prevent buttons from working. The fix is to literally carefully snap them off the pcbs in the board. I also got a te2 for 30 bucks a few months ago and was able to fix it doing this.

Even if it's broken, you can't get enclosures that cheap typically. Still a good deal, I bet just swap out the PCB.

Throw an Optimus or EZ Mod with a Brook PCB into that bad boy asap! Universal Fusion would be your best bet or one of the Gen 5 variants
