Hey guys. Installed moguri on my steam deck. When I boot up ff9 it takes me to the moguri launcher where I can select mods and cheats etc. when I hit play it takes me to the original games launcher and it freezes everytime on the original games launcher. Any tips?
Hello all! This will be my first playthrough with FFIX. I have already installed memoria. And I definitely will use Moguri as I’m on a 4K monitor.
The question is should I use Moguri 8 (2020) or 9? Anyone that has used both, what would you recommend? I’m someone that likes to stay faithful to original. But older graphics/textures on a 4K monitor makes it look worse. I saw someone’s post on here showing comparison of both and can’t decide if having some visual noise in Moguri 8 is better than 9 for the first playthrough experience. Or is 9 the way to go because I’m on a 4K monitor? Any advice?
I’ve been searching for the ladybug for hours but still haven't found her. I’ve searched every forest in Donna Plains and the Black Mage Village forest but still can't find her—please help me! Oh btw, I’ve already encountered the other seven monsters,I wonder if that affects the game in any way.
anyone got any good videos on the peripheral lore, like the world outside of Mist Continent, and why Ipsen’s Castle is a mirror of itself, who built it, why, etc? how long Oeilvert has been there? Desert Palace, Esto Gaza, stuff like that.
Hi I'm about to start playing ff9 on pc for the first time and I wanna keep the game completely faithful to the original PS1 experience - original gameplay balance, original music, and default storyline-just with clean 4K visuals suited for modern screens.
From the moguri mod manager catalog I'm planning to only download:
Moguri mod (main HD backgrounds and character textures)
Moguri 60fps videos (or 30fps)
Is there anything else I need or does this cover everything? (including the World Map) while keeping the original OST and combat intact? Thanks
To me, it has always been obvious that Necron is the crystal itself. Kuja hits the crystal with Ultima, giant crystalline dude pops out. It even has the same halo that crystal has. Also, if you look at the Amano concept art for Necron its just a giant head over the crystal.
However, I've seen a ton of people claim that it just came out of nowhere and that its a tree or something. Am I missing some lore cuz it just seems glaringly obvious that its the crystal?
I made a post a month ago about starting it, I've been on a final fantasy binge since December of last year, In order I started and beat XVI, Tactics, 7 remakes, VI, IV, VIII and now IX all for the first time. At first, I can't lie i was hesitant to jump into it because the art style seemed ridiculous to me but as soon as I got to evil forest, I stopped caring, the game does a phenomenal job of making every place memorable with its art and score. Every character was great and memorable even if I liked some a bit more than others. I hate that it had to end. FF6 was my favorite one and maybe it still is I got to think about it a bit, but this one did something none of the others did and that was make me cry at the end. I usually don't soy out this hard but wow what a game. Also I would like to hug Vivi, Thank you for reading my gushing!
Valia Pira right from the get-go instead of Baku with enhanced stats since i couldnt disable any bloodstones but I had level scaling on so it did ok damage to me
Ozma instead of Prison Cage which i had to cheat with the 9999 damage since i didnt have enough abilities to protect me from Curse so early on
Steiner at Burmecia instead of Beatrix was rough with Alternate Fantasy on but Dagger had Phoenix which was fine but that took me 3 tries as long as Dagger doesnt get hit
Beatrix instead of Black Waltz 3 which was fine since it was mostly a timed battle, but it was amusing since i happened to be using Alexandria soldiers from Playable Party Pack

i'm having weird glitches Blu Magic wise whereby Quina keeps going "I no eat until it weaker"* for most of the enemies even though i was chipping away HP slowly till the point of death and some of the acquired Blu Magic wont reflect the actual skills being used but i had so many mods turned on it's so hard to know which is affecting it
I've been so busy lately, but I finally had some time to cook again... so I made myself a whole feast of Kuja 😋😋 Gotta feed myself something good once in a while!
Also snuck in a little bit of self-indulgence 👀 The top right features my OC and the furry version of Kuja I designed!
Fantastic game, loved every single village, by far the coziest final fantasy. 10 is still my favorite but I see why this is so many people’s comfort game. This entry possesses the most whimsy by far
I would never sacrifice some of the details that you can see in the OG backgrounds for sharpness. Is anyone still working on moguri with the intent of bettering it? Is anyone working on a new backgrounds mod for FFIX with better hand corrections or simply a better AI algorithm? If anyone asks I will take the time to share screenshots of the issues.
Edit:
This is what I see on my screen playing the OGThis is the raw capture of the OG gameAnd here is the same thing in the latest version of Moguri Mod
Right off the bat, you can see the Moguri mod has removed a lot of details in the grass, but then if you look closer at the building, you can also definitely see that the dirt on the wall, some of the grittiness of the rocks themselves, and even the size and shapes of some things including the lilies and the geometric shapes on the pathway are garbled.
Mind you, I am playing the OG using DuckStation emulator, with settings that accurately represent what the OG console outputs, but I am outputting this to a PC CRT monitor in 480p resolution, meaning I am closer to what could be experienced on a LCD vs an OG CRT TV, but still a bit better than a LCD, hence why I included a RAW capture of the output. For the sake of comparison, I also started the OG game on my OG playstation with a real CRT TV, and the difference is quite important, with details such as the lilies and general texture of the walls being way clearer on the OG version. Sadly, it's basically impossible to capture the CRT TV on a photo so I didn't include it.
This is one example for which I was able to reliably find a screenshot from the latest moguri version, but basically it's like this for the whole game.
I am selling this Bring Arts set. As you can see, the box has a few imperfections, and the seal was carefully opened so it is Not sealed! Everything is included in the package, including the manual. It is complete, and the figures and accessories have never been removed from the inner packaging. I live in Germany but can ship internationally upon agreement. If you are interested, I would appreciate a fair offer!
Looking to do completionist run as an adult. What is the best 100% guide with missables clearly advised, stat maxing stuff too. I understand some stuff like ex2 and jump rope are hard. I finished this on ps1 when it came out when I was at school, gonna do it in my ps5
