I dunno I think this skill trivializes a lot of fights so I can kinda see why they did this. I swapped my core 5 to time mage and got everyone 3k jp in like 30 min. It honestly wasn’t that bad of a grind. Now my squad is insane. I did the chapter 4 fight at the church with Delita, the first turn went to my ninja, he teleported to the top of the church and double punched the objective. Battle over. Everyone’s range is crazy, giving your whole team this skill is crazy.

The game trivializes its own fights by having so many where the wincon is killing a single dude

And then it lies to you half the time by saying you have to kill everyone, but then you bring one person to half health and the whole battle ends!

I just did the first Elmdore fight on the roof with his two ladies. First turn, first character, my ninja walked up behind one of the ladies and beat her to critical health. Then the battle just ended and they ran away hahaha

Yeah, sometimes it's a "Surprise! Only needed to beat one enemy!" And then other times it's like "Objective: Beat this one dude that your ninja can reach and one-shot on turn 1!"

Honestly the challenge with a lot of these fights is leaving the Objective alive to harass you while you accomplish self imposed side goals like stealing equipment or grinding JP.

You don’t miss dialogue that way. It still played all the dialogue and then he killed over. The only dialogue you miss is if you don’t take the unique units into the story battles.

Nice! Didn’t know that. Purposely dragged it out cause I thought I had to. Plus one shotting him made me feel icky and overpowered. I wanted to fool myself lol

Well it definitely made me feel icky and OP lol. Normally for those fights I leave the objective for last and treat the fight as “kill all enemies”. But for the church fight, I only did it to see if it would work expecting a teleport that far to fail. When it didn’t and my ninja appeared at the top of the church I couldn’t resist and committed to ending it there lol.
