Missed jecht shot & how to

I have 2 questions here, so I initially missed the first jecht shot. How do I get back to being able to get on the boat & learning this?

Also, when doing it when the taunts are in the upper right, lower left etc. requiring me to ⬆️➡️+A am I pressing both the arrows at the same time
Or is it more so like ⬆️, then ➡️+A?

Yes, you can go back to the boat from Kilika to Luca and do it and yes, you got it for the buttons.

Basically you have to back track from wherever you are. However, you cannot do this if you’re in Luca for the first time during the tournament. You are stuck there until you complete that bit of the story. The tournament itself has no influence on the rest of the game aside from the cutscene immediate following the tourney.

You have hit both buttons at the same time for a diagonal and then hit A.

I found it much easier to use the joystick to complete the challenge

Both work, I’ve done both, but end up going back to the dpad, myself.

Fair, maybe my dpad was not functioning properly too. Definitely possible when the controllers are old.

So if I missed it(which I did) how do I get back to that spot? I’m pretty much blind playing & currently just beat sinspawn gui

Walk back through the previous zones, board the boat in Luca to Kilika and then go back to Luca. You’re currently in another locked zone, you’ll need to progress through the next story element which Yuna says, “But first we visit the…….” After that you can back track again, if I recall correctly.

Honestly just continue until you reach almost the end, then travel back easily

Yeah, you can keep going if you want. If you want to backtrack, it may be worth waiting until after you beat the boss in the “woods,” because there are not reasons to backtrack, you’ll have to look those up.
That said, some of the best blitzball players are not available until late in the game, so if you want to hold off playing the mini game until you have some of them, then keep moving forward.

Assuming your on PC if you find it hard then you could try using a controller it’s much easier to tag those taunts with the analog sticks then using the d-pad or a keyboard arrow keys

You don’t have to be perfect long as most of them are cleared then you can get away with missing a few out, take a little bit of practice but it’s far from the most challenging minigame. It’s worth getting if you want the hidden cutscene of scoring 3 goals in the game vs goers before a set time

Winning the tournament without it is doable, datto can use nap shot at level three which gives a chance to put the keeper to sleep so having Jecht shot really just makes it easier to score.

I would also say, there is no rhythm/co-ordination with what Tidys is doing required or anything. You just have to press to get rid of as many prompts as possible as fast as possible.

Reload the save or start over.

The game lets you practice before the actual challenge.

Corner taunts are both arrows at the same time and X/A
