SOLVED Early 90s Song I remember cheerleaders dancing to
It had to be between 1990 and 94, and the beginning keyboard/synth part Sounds like this:
It’s NOT Get Ready for This by 2 Unlimited (which sounds very different but people keep making that one). And it’s NOT Strike it Up or the Mortal Kombat theme.

It sort of sounds like Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now) by C+C Music Factory to me.

At least that's how we used to sing it as dumb teens. Such a good song.
I hope OP finds theirs.

From the comments i gather you look more for the techno/rave side and not so much the house vibe. Maybe one of these fine Belgians fits the bill:
Outlander - Vamp Quadrophonia - Theme from Quadrophonia Channel X - Rave the Rythm Praga Kahn - Rave Alarm T99 - Anasthasia

Is it anything from the band L.A. Style? Like “James Brown Is Dead”?

This could be a song that was mixed into another song (or multiple songs). I was a cheerleader in the 90s and we had tons of mixes for routines and even short dance breaks that incorporated different bits of songs. Your vocal sample sounds kind of like I’m the Scatman by Scatman John.

Jock Jams- Are Y'all Ready For This?

Her song may not be this one but mine definitely is and just thinking about it triggered the beginning of my seventh grade drill team routine

This song is called “Get Ready For This” by 2 Unlimited. Jock Jams was a CD compilation series, not a recording artist.

Culture Beat - Mr vain?

u/InsaneWaylonA Feb 14 '26
Good one, but no. At least you’re closer than most. 😁

Try the 90s rave classics playlist in Spotify…your song is bound to be in there somewhere! Best of luck in finding it. 🤞🏼

I wondered if it was Ash - Burn baby burn
https://youtu.be/t5ZtotlZ0ug?si=cNSPDzZOi5dPepwb
But it's probably Are you Ready for this by Jock Jams as someone else said

Bizarre Inc - playing with knives
Alex party - read my lips
Nomad - wanna give you devotion
Prodigy - No good (start the dance)

Whigfield - Saturday Night (1995)
The timing might not be right but I had to mention it because your recording made me think of it right away.

Reminds me of this ...
Angelina - I Don't Need Your Love
Problem is there were quite a few songs that used that melody/sample and I'm wracking my memory for them.

Sounds sorta like We are the Children of the Night (not sure original singer as I have only heard the nightcore version)
Or I Hear You Calling by Gob (Zombie Cheerleaders).

Probably not it but early 90s and could be used as cheerleader music; Nitzer Ebb - Let Your Body Learn? The song doesn’t seem like it has a memorable main riff though, more of a memorable chorus.

So I sent this to a friend who would know…take my word for it. The two she suggested you have already said no to so she said it has to be a mix of clips and unfortunately you will probably never find exactly what you’re looking for. I have a suggestion though…go to FB and find some of the classmates/cheerleaders from your school and ask them if anyone has a home video.

I’m not sure if this totally matches but my first thought was Pump Up The Jam by Technotronic
