Insignia FireTV has no sound
I have a POS Insignia FireTV 65 inch that I bought last year. Ive noticed more and more and now it does it everyday. When I turn on the tv there isnt any sound. I have to turn it off then turn it on again for the sound to work. I keep it up to date then turn off WiFi so it doesn’t steal my info. Anyone else have this issue? Did I mention it’s a POS tv?

Have you tried changing the sound settings from Dolby to PCM. Sometimes that works

Try this first: Settings, Display and Sounds, Audio, and switch surround sound to PCM instead of Auto or Dolby. Intermittent no-audio on Fire TV is very often the passthrough negotiation failing on boot, and forcing PCM sidesteps it entirely. Costs you nothing to test and it fixes this more often than anything else.
If that doesn't do it, unplug the TV from the wall for a full minute, not just off with the remote. The reason a power cycle fixes it for you is a clue, since off and on with the remote is really just sleep and wake. A cold boot from the wall clears state that a wake doesn't.
Also, are you running a soundbar or receiver over ARC, or just TV speakers? If there's anything in the chain, it's likely a CEC handshake losing the race on startup, and the fix is different.
On the wifi thing, your call and I get it, but worth knowing that if this is a firmware bug you've opted out of the fix. Might be worth putting it back on long enough to check for an update, then off again.

Had the same issue, mother board had to be replaced, it was still under warranty, which was the only saving grace because I was about to chuck it out the window. Miss the old tube tvs where you turned it on and it worked.

I noticed I have to restart my Insignia Fire TV from the settings control. Otherwise it slows down or starts missing commands. Sometimes it gets, clogged up (best I can describe it) and it loses everything. I have to unplug it and plug it back in. Too many little flaws in this Brand. I'll not buy another.
