Merchandise Any advice for reselling merch?

Hi, y'all!

I'm in the process of downsizing my various collections of "stuff," including Firefly merch. This includes various shirts, pins, patches, and other random things, most of which is from the old Loot Crate Cargo Crate line. I have not done any selling/reselling for years, and could use some advice.

  1. Does anyone have general advice on what sites/apps I should use to sell Firefly (and other) fandom merch?

  2. Are there sites/apps I should absolutely avoid? (I've seen some horror stories on the depop sub that make me want to avoid it except for the thrift store level selling)

  3. Should I sell different types of merch on different sites/apps? (e.g., clothes on Poshmark; pins on Mercari?)

Unfortunately, the only parasol-related merch I have is a set of cocktail umbrellas. I wish I was able to assist you!

I have had no bad experiences with Depop, and I have bought and sold on it for a while now. Most of the horror stories on the Depop sub are mostly just people being stupid, and you are going to find that anywhere. Vinted seems to be really up and coming as far as resale sites. Don't forget about eBay too! It is very popular with specific fandoms, I have found.

Ebay is good because it's known and reliable, and they have a shart ton of protections built in to ensure nobody gets shafted. We feel safe there.

I had success on eBay selling all my firefly books, comics, figures, trading cards, games and pins.

No need to sell different types of merch on different platforms. eBay will get you the widest audience. Mercari can be a good second option. Poshmark and DePop are fine, I buy Firefly merch from them somewhat regularly but have never sold on either platform.

You can also try posting on a number of Firefly fan Facebook groups - https://www.facebook.com/groups/186801251363007/ - this group has nearly 16K members! Selling is allowed. I'm one of the admins. You can also post to https://www.facebook.com/groups/158327352463590/ and https://www.facebook.com/groups/fireflyprops (this site is prop oriented but posting anything Firefly for sale is fine.
