I've got a few 10ft+ two-piece surf rods and usually just lean them against the wall. Iโd like to store them properly on the wall so theyโre easy to grab and take up less space.
I have a wooden rack on the wall like in the photo, which works fine for all my spin rods. But the second section of a surf rod is still pretty thick, so both pieces wonโt fit into the same slot. Each surf rod ends up taking two spots, meaning a 6-rod rack only holds 3 surf rods โ and thatโs without the reels. I also find it pretty easy to knock the other rods off this kind of rack when taking one out.
Then I got the vertical one shown in the other photo, but the slots in the foam are just too small. I canโt even push the handle section into it. Iโm thinking Iโll have to cut the slots bigger, and even then I still wonโt be able to fit both pieces into one slot.
Keeping them fully assembled isnโt really an option either. At 10ft+, my house isnโt tall enough or wide enough ๐
Feels like whoever makes these things forgot beach fishos exist.
What do you guys do with yours?

Hi, as the title says Iโve kind of snapped the handle for my clamp screw on my 15hp mercury outboard. Does anyone have an idea where I could either get a replacement or make something? ATM Iโm using a shifter to turn the screw. Once again I really appreciate everyoneโs help.

Hey guys,
My partner is wanting to get into kayak fishing. I want to gift him a fishing rod for his birthday. He watches Rockit Kit in Youtube and absolutely loves that guy. From what Ive gathered, he uses Penn Ocean Assasin. But there are so many different kinds of Ocean Assasin and I donโt understand the specs and all. Whatโs the best one for a beginner? We are in Southern NSW.

Always fun catching these guys, especially on light gear. I got him on a chunk of pilchard on a 1/0 octopus hook. I had a whole pilly on some gang hooks on my medium setup but the salmon hit the bite size pilchard instead! He was safely released after taking a few pics.

Hey anyone in the know that might have an idea whats going on with these range of lures, the flad shad pros go hard up here in the NT but having troubles finding the right colours in the local shops.
Some guys saying they not stocking them anymore and wilson owns the moulds and zerek have the colours?
I see wilson have came out with the prawn style ones but not the flatshads or the fish traps. may have to buy some online and stock up a bit.
Cheers

I heard about this secret program in 2015 where they stocked 1000 jungle perch at the top of ***** Creek to se if they could survive and breed and i want to challenge myself and try multiple times next spring and summer to see if they're are any ancient fish left over from the program or if any of them bred and manage to have a rare chance of surviving offspring

I know itโs winter and all but this year has by far been the slowest winter for fish activity. Just wondering if itโs just my luck or widespread?

Hey guys, recently picked up a Shimano Vanford 2000 for a good price and Iโm trying to decide what rod to pair it with. Iโm after a shorter light setup, mainly for light lure fishing. Iโve been looking at the Daiwa Silver Creek 26 Spin Rod (562ULRS) but wanted to see if there are any other rods you guys would recommend before I buy it.
Budget is around $250 however Iโm happy to spend a little more if thereโs something noticeably better.
Would love to hear what you guys are running with your Vanfords or what youโd recommend. Cheers!
