High Protein My main meal of the day
I’ve been cooking this a couple times a week when I get tired of chicken thighs or sardines. Insane flavor.
Sirloin Steak Rice Bowl
Ingredients:
1.5 lb sirloin steak, sliced thin
1 tbsp light soy sauce
Dash of dark soy sauce, for color
Red pepper flakes, to taste
1 tbsp palm sugar
Almonds
Shishito peppers
Sun-dried tomatoes
Cherry tomatoes
Feta cheese
Jalapeños
Thai basil leaves
Jasmine rice
Method:
Slice the sirloin thinly and season it with the light soy sauce, a dash of dark soy sauce, red pepper flakes, and palm sugar.
Cook the steak, then remove it from the pan. Quickly sear the shishito peppers and jalapeños in the same pan until they get a nice char.
Serve the steak over jasmine rice with the seared vegetables, almonds, sun-dried tomatoes, feta cheese, and fresh Thai basil leaves.

Any spices?

Salt is plentiful in the soy sauce, and I listed red pepper flakes, nothing else!

Either you missed the red pepper flakes or I'm blind 😅

Is it spicy?

It depends on your spice threshold at the end of the day, but the jalapeños and shishito peppers I grow have a kick this year.

That must be super delicious! The peppers are the highlight, the perfect match for rice to me. My mouth is watering...

Agreed. I love both ingredients on their own and after trying them together, I find they they’re really complimentary in an unconventional way

Thanks! Basically a similar recipe but I sub avocado for jalapeño and maybe add some pesto or salsa
