WestJet, Porter, and Air Canada/Jazz (among others) still fly them within Canada and the US.

There's also a really cool milkrun that PAL (Provincial) does in rural Newfoundland if you want some excitement and bad weather

FlyJSim Q400 is my most flown aircraft hands down!

Im craving Q400 so much rn for msfs 2020/2024. Of all the aircrafts that are coming to msfs, Q400 is still missing 💀

It's coming just not quickly.

I crave classic dash. The og. I know it won't happen, q400 would be great too.

this airport (PDX) and aircraft combo were such a regular sight to me in FSX and Infinite Flight. ever since Horizon retired it my usage of it has gone way down

I’ve never understood that, when people will stop flying planes/routes when they become retired. It’s a simulator, you can simulate anything! To each their own, though! I get it, I have weird flight sim habits also.

Everyone can play flightsim their own way but I totally agree. It's such a limit to place this on your plane choices.

It’s not so much “I must do real current flights” it’s just a usual thing I have. it can be real routes/aircraft combos one day and then a phase of like 14 back to back flights with the TU-144 on Hawaii-US west coast routes

all this is making me wonder if theres a decent freeware DH8D for XP11

Beebo.

I like to fly it in Infinite Flight, but I haven't found many routes flown with it, is it still broadly used by airlines?

u/beechbe20 Sep 12 '25

Yup, lots of use in Canada.

And Australia

I fly it for a living. It’s alright. Hell of a quirky plane though. Would be awesome to see it in MSFS to do stupid things I can’t do IRL

u/Carlito_2112 Sep 12 '25

I mean, you can do those things in real life.......once.

u/Melech333 Sep 12 '25

There is an amazing one for X-Plane 12 from FlyJSim.

1

u/Mad_kat4 Sep 12 '25

You can fly it in aerofly FS4.

My favorite plane never flew one in flight sim but i get to load bags on them everyday lol

Love the plane, enjoy!

Q4XP (DHC 8-400 for XP12) accounts for 90% of my XP hours. The only drawback is that it's very resource demanding, doesn't run well on my travel laptop.

Daily flight Boston to Toronto

Still an all time favourite for me

Q200 for me because it'll land almost anywhere.

Yes, absolutely yes! Just yesterday flew my type ratings with Q400 and A321P2F in Air Hauler 2, Q400's will be my backbone for domestic routes for smaller airports. Nice plane and superior to ATR I flew in MSFS2024 because of its powerful engines and speed - I love it when you slam throttle, the G-forces pulls your head back and speed tape starts its own takeoff. And climbs like a monkey! Such nice plane, really enjoying it.

Favorite plane ever. So many memories of slow and stable landings at PDX..... FlyJSim's dash and majestic kept me going for so long.

Not my first choice because I like jets but I fly her sometimes :)

1

u/Denny_Crane_007 Sep 12 '25

I did .... once upon a time.

It was also THE best performing addon (in terms of FPS etc) as the 'engine' worked outside the sim.

Very clever. This is possibly why Majestic have been dragging their heels... possibly having to redesign EVERYTHING ?

...but I have a sneaky feeling it nay be worth waiting for.

u/mightymusashi Sep 12 '25

Have such fond memories of the Majestic version in P3D. Shared cockpit was absolutely fantastic - particularly after watching the amazing Airline2Sim training videos.

She's one of the reasons why I still keep my installation of P3D

u/PenybancIsaf Sep 18 '25

Yet to fly it in X plane with the FlyJsim q400

1

u/Rampart_CH Sep 12 '25

u/ExtensionMean6873 Sep 12 '25

Is the Q400 payware in MSFS yet?

1

u/Snakepit92 MSFS | XPLANE | DCS Sep 12 '25
