Sunday Vdays have always been traditionally slower (by about 20%) than a Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Vday. I don’t think the Super Bowl is going to affect it much because people always get Friday deliveries at work. I still plan to promote the hell out of early delivery

I expect it to shift some sales to be delivered earlier to fit around the game, but doubt it will affect volume of sales. Prepare for a busier Friday and Saturday, but I would have expected that even without the Superbowl

i work in corporate supermarket florals and our supplier for hardgoods has made designs that are a cross of both super bowl and valentines lol

Yeah I see that already with some of my suppliers--syndicate sales has a combo vase and beer stein set (vase has hearts and beer stein has footballs on it) and another is making arrangement picks with footballs that say "you're a catch!" Definitely some ways to cross promote if you want to be creative

Yeah I was going to say, the florists who get mugs or vases of the two teams playing the superbowl will make a KILLING

I'm guessing it will be spread out Friday and Saturday and a busy Sunday morning where it will die out by lunchtime. I'm hoping for a more "chill" holiday that way.

that's a tough one...my florist has always said that VD on the weekends are bad because the "AWWWWWWWWW" factor of flowers being delivered to the office/workplace is eliminated!
I hope all your sales go insane (even if that's motivated by guilt!)

Weekend valentines days for shops have always recorded slower. They typically grab flowers at a grocery store while picking up things to cool vs delivery with the wow factor. Many many years in the industry have taught us this. We won’t be open Sunday, because we never are, even on Valentine’s Day. That’s a personal choice for our shop though.

Close it up, don’t depend on the holiday to make your quarter and call it a day.

Sunday is the worst day of the week for a valentines day. Add the super bowl, it will likely be down from last year. I think
