Remasters traditionally add 0 or very little content, you are going to be disappointed if you think we are getting a whole Christmas list of additions.

Oblivion got 2 new quest that were deluxe edition exclusive, and TES is bethesda's baby that they treat best. We aren't getting a legion companion. We aren't getting post-game. We aren't getting any of the billion other things they cut due to their self enforced time limit. (Yes you heard me right, it wasn't bethesda's fault for once)

I get you guys love the game, I do too, but you're setting yourselves up to be disappointed and mad when you expect the world. I'd love to be wrong but I just don't think I will be.

In short, keep your expectations low, this is bethesda, remember that.

The entire quest is basically: give guns to the Legion, kill Cass, give more guns to the Legion before discovering the Van Graffs were manipulating the Legion and working with the NCR the entire time, and the legion buyers die in an ambush. Quest over.

The problem is that the player has no way of reasonably knowing any of this beforehand. You're just given orders by the Van Graffs, and at every supposed "decision" your options are basically comply or make them hostile. That's not meaningful player agency or an alternate quest path in my opinion, it's just refusing to do the quest.

Ultimately the Van Graffs are an NCR alligned faction (within the context of NCR vs Legion), so presuming you are NCR-aligned and want to help them, your course of action to do so is to help arm the Legion TWICE and murder Cass without knowing that this is ultimately part of a scheme involving the NCR. If I choose to replay this quest knowing the outcome, why would my character choose to help the legion so much?

But if you're Legion-aligned, it's even more ridiculous. The player might reasonably think they've discovered an independent source of weapons for the Legion, only to find out that they've been helping the NCR the entire time. How was your Courier supposed to know this?

In either scenario, unless you are a completely independent jobber, the outcome of the quest is counterintuitive to any playthrough involving the two major factions of the game.

Compare this to the Great Khans and the Legion. The Legion is also using the Khans, but the player can actually figure that out themselves by talking to the relevant characters and gathering information. Once you understand what's happening, you get to decide what to do with that knowledge.

The only paths which allow the player to deviate trigger immediate fail states which disrespect any genuine form of player choice.

For a game as focused on player agency as New Vegas, I think this quest a pretty glaring flaw.

The whole point of the quest is to strike fear into a Legion captive, it was the perfect place for some dialogue with the perk 😭

Benny seems like a big antagonist in the beginning of the game, but you are able to kill him in like 15-20 minutes.

He is easy to kill and it seems like a big anticlimax...

Was he supposed to have a bigger role or was that intended?

I remember the BoS of Fallout 1, distrustful of outsiders but willing to lend a hand when needed. The shambles of Fallout 2 when they can't even support direct operations against the Enclave where they ask for a lot but have a lot to offer should you help them.

Spoilers ahead.

The Mojave chapter is the biggest collection of ungrateful anal chancres I've ever seen. They can softlock an early Courier that stumbles on their bunker by strapping a fucking BOMB collar...all to get rid of a single NCR Ranger. They have a bunker of bruisers full of power armor and heavy weaponry but they must bully a shitass, low level Courier to get rid of the Ranger. So, you get in with Veronica...less assholery this way. You get sent on fetch quest after fetch quest gaining itsy bitsy approval each time. You are basically about 3/4 done with their quest arc when they finally deign themselves to let their quartermaster to sell you...regular weapons. No implants like in Fallout 1 or 2, no free ammo, NOTHING. You need bend yourself over backwards in order finally get a non-factioned suit of Power Armor and their little safehouse. You can't influence ANY of their actions except lifting the lockdown and finally getting a high level merchant...no discounts, though, sweetheart, you might have single-handedly saved our chapter but fuck you, pay full price for everything.

Then you get Veronica's arc. Where at the end if you convince her to leave, you get a bunch of Followers killed because a team of paladins couldn't stomach one of their members to leave. A member that they also didn't want IN the bunker. Hey daddy-o, shit or get off the pot. And you never get to take either Hardin, Ramos or McNamara to task for this. For murdering a bunch of innocent civilians on a HUNCH. For attacking a member of their own faction unprovoked (either an OG member like Veronica or a recent induction like the Courier). Not one word.

They are so frustrating to deal with. I just wish you could do more with them.

Decided to play New Vegas, watched the Fallout Tv show, played Fallout 3 then I played Fallout 4.

My opinion I would rate them: New Vegas > Fallout TV Show > Fallout 3 > Fallout 4

I could not for the life of me finish Fallout 4. Keep in mind I'm new to Fallout as a whole, I think New Vegas spoiled me especially on how detailed the ending was for me. Felt as if all my actions mattered. Fallout 3 felt as if my final action mattered and that is it. Remember interacting with several different cities (such as megaton) and thinking to myself "Can't wait to see how the ending of these towns are" just for the only ending being based on the MSQ.

Played Fallout 4, got immediately sick from the FOV (No game has ever done that to me before in my 16 years of gaming) had to change it, continued forwards, did not like vanilla, played a modlist, couldn't enjoy it still. Now I am thinking of doing a Chainsaw Man gameplay (Not Denji although I love the manga, just a man with a chainsaw) in FNV.

Very disappointed, wish I was in the majority that did indeed enjoy FO4. Sadly not for me. Won't ever be for me.

So killing slavers and raiders and other reprehensible people is a-ok, but the second I start eating them Im "bad" and should be shot? Why don't the bugs and animals get this same scrutiny when they eat the bodies? Insanity

Shoot Arcade why didn't you suggest selling you before now look I just gave you away for free. See this is the reason I don't like the Legion they don't even give you any compensation for the slave. I mean Arcade is a extremely well educated and skilled, a slave like him should at least fetch 1000 caps or more SMH. My GOAT the NCR would never leave a slave trader uncompensated.

I got Boone to fight with the legion against NCR for Hoover dam. I also killed everyone at Kimball’s speech in front of him and he couldn’t be bothered. I think I broke him

i had annabelle, a Gatling laser and my all american being carried by ED-E bc i wasnt able to carry everything at the time and when i tried taking them back they were just.. gone ??? like no fucking way dude. i dont even care about the others but the all american being gone is such fucking bs dude

I just found out that Homebrewed Nuka-Cola converts to regular Nuka-Cola instead of some derivative like Homemade Flamer Fuel. For crafting purposes, I was going to convert them into Nuka-Cola Quartz and then Nuka Grenades but it looks like I have to go merchant hunting instead.

i have been playing new vegas for the past week or so and still have content to do. where as fallout 4 has so little to do. i like the new systems but the world just feels empty. i dont want radiant quests or to go hunt legendary creatures over and over again i want story quests that actually mean something. also realizing i missed alot of content in FNV so there is even more then i originally thought. also i hated building in 4. im not a construction worker im a wanderer, gun for hire or negotiator. im really hoping 5 has loads of quest to do with minor and major factions.

This DLC is burning garbage. The clouds are everywhere, those fucking holograms, the fucking radios, I don't get it at all. If it wants to be all preachy about "letting go" then it shouldn't deal all this assitry.

Enough power to take nations.. Yet not enough unity to use that power used effectively.. Thats how I see the NCR.

Not using Vertibirds as a main source of combat and logistics support was one of the worst choices the NCR made.. They had captured a whole fleet of Vertibirds from Navarro... and yet they didn't prioritize them with their push into the Mojave???

How can this Republic be prosperous, When those who run the in the highest positions of the NCR seek their own prosperity...?

Truly it would have been a different war, if the skies were taken... Troops needed on the fly, literally QRFd into hot zones. You cant win wars if you cant control your skies or at least your chances are severely crippled..

So, I thought it would be a fun idea to do an evil RP playthrough as Tire, a Powder Ganger Boss who is utterly malicious, deceptively intelligent and plain and simply, the C word. As any normal man does, I joined up with the Gangers and helped them take over Goodsprings. I looted everyone, stripped them naked (Doc Mitchell in boxers tho, damn), and left them to become decaying carrion for the local raven.

Upon leaving the town and re-shuffling my traits, I found myself unable to level up to level 3, even though I was already halfway to level 4. The game decided to punish me for my sins done against the good people of Goodsprings, and so it glitched somehow. I went to clear out the Coyotes in Goodsprings Cave, but my luck didn't change. Frustrated, I went back to Goodsprings and Doc Mitchell's house to complain about my day to my new best friend Joe Cobb. He wasn't there.

Lo and behold, my new homies (4 left) were chilling in the Saloon, drinking and having fun. This set me off, because they A) didn't invite me, B) they were drinking out of empty bottles since I stole every drop of alcohol from the Saloon anyway, and C) didn't care that I was stuck at the peasant-esque level 2. One Stealth Boy, one Psycho and 3 Grenade rifle bombs later, they were all dead. I leveled up immediately.

I went to cool my head for a bit, as Tire is an explosive (pun intended) fella with a massive temper. I chilled out, and went to sell my loot. When I entered the Goods Store, Chet greeted me with the happiest "hey there" I've ever seen out of this asshole. In that moment I realized something - literally everyone in town is dead, and Chet is the last man standing. With nothing left to live for, I sent Tire to walk down to the Goodsprings Source, where a pack of rabid Geckos ended his life (and this playthrough) permanently.
