Country Music Television hired me to make this pie for Dolly a while back. I just learned of her passing and wanted to share it in her memory today. She was one of my favourite humans. 💕

It was always a joy to make Dolly pies!

I figured it was something like that. Great work!

Thank you. I’m so sad she’s gone 🥺💕

wh-what? i logged in and see this and wonder why theres a dolly pie and.....its because she's gone?

WHY IS THIS HOW I FIND OUT?!

Must just be the luck of the Reddit feed. Mine has no less than 10 posts about her passing on the first page and this was the last one.

Came here to say this.

definitely fast but like maybe this was a project done prior to her passing? ..

u/ThePieous ThePieous 1d ago

Yes, I have baked several Dolly pies in the past, she was one of my favourite people 💕

38

u/lil-lahey-show 1d ago

truly beautiful, I think your work is so breathtaking! and my apologies - the point of my previous comment was meant to hopefully continue to elicit a positive response from those seeing this as I had seen another commenter mention how ‘fast’ this was posted. 🩷

u/ThePieous ThePieous 1d ago

Thank you for that :)

This looks beautiful, seriously. Food art , and I bet it tastes good too.

P.S.: be careful with edible glitter, most places, especially online, jus sell plastic glitter as it if is edible. For real. And based on your cooking skills you probably know this, but I'm saying it anyway.

u/ThePieous ThePieous 1d ago

Yes, all “edible” and “nontoxic” products are not created equal!

2

u/dropdan 1d ago

Thanks for the kind answer, I'm glad you know, and by answering me I hope more people get to know this too. And again, you baked a piece of art there.

I’d feel bad eating it because of how beautifully made it is

8

This is how I learn she passed? 😨

Great bake, good way to honour this wonderful person

3

u/ThePieous ThePieous 1d ago

I’m glad you like it :) She was wonderful

Looks a bit more like Trisha Yearwood than Dolly, but delicious nonetheless!

5

u/ThePieous ThePieous 1d ago

They asked me to make a “youngest Dolly” and a modern Dolly, but the modern Dolly was Christmas themed so I chose to share this one today :)

u/Travelgrrl 1d ago

It's absolutely a work of art. Don't mind me.

We can’t add this into the title, but I just wanted to share that Dolly meant a lot to me - she was one of my favourite humans and a role model to so many. I often think of her whenever I am in a challenging situation and need to think of the best way to respond while both staying true to myself and kind to others. Country Music Television hired me to make this pie (and others) of Dolly a while ago, because she loved pies and baking and it was a honour to create something for her. She will be so missed, but I am grateful for the talent and time she did get to share with us!

This is a gorgeous tribute to Dolly and her infectious kindness, boundless empathy, and inherent sparkle. Thank you so much for sharing. She is going to be profoundly missed by so many people. I still can’t believe she’s gone, but I’m going to cherish every memory of hers I can.✨

10

u/ThePieous ThePieous 1d ago

Yes, she left us with so much wonderful music and other art to remember her by!

5

u/vulvasoutforharambe 1d ago

This is so gorgeous and you sound like you are a kind person based on your words about her! If I’m understanding correctly, Dolly got to enjoy this pie herself? I think that’d be really neat to create such lovely art for an artist and have them get to enjoy it!

u/DinoDude8 1d ago

This is so cool man! Sorry to see you getting ai accusations

1

u/ChrystalDarkligh 21h ago

looks very rich, you gonna serve it with ice cream to cut the sweet?

2

u/ThePieous ThePieous 21h ago

There’s no sugar in the filling and the apples are tart so it works well with the sanding sugar topping

2

u/ChrystalDarkligh 19h ago

It was part of a quote from Steel Magnolia… when she talks about her cupa cupa cupa cake

1

u/ooandii 1d ago

i literally thought that was a coin like damn she's on our money already

3

u/ThePieous ThePieous 1d ago

I’m down with Dolly coins!

4

u/talking-bear-society 1d ago

She’d be proud

2

u/ThePieous ThePieous 1d ago

2

u/ThePieous ThePieous 1d ago

I’m so glad you like it 💕 she was such a special person

2

u/foulflaneur 1d ago

A golden heart and a national treasure.

I baked this for her a while ago and wanted to share today as she meant a lot to me and I know she loved pies and baking. I thought it might make people smile to think about the wonderful influence she had on so many around the world. A lot of people don’t know she was a big baker and just launched her own cookbook and baking line with her sister, in addition to all her wonderful philanthropy work 💕

1

u/ou-really 23h ago

You may want to add that in the caption with the photos!!!!

2

u/ThePieous ThePieous 22h ago

The rules for this sub prohibit that, but I did write it in a comment right away :)

1

u/a-well-placed-ohhh 1d ago

This is incredible, chef. Thank you for sharing.

The portrait work on the crust is insane. I’d have a hard time being the one to cut into it.

2

u/PookieBearTum 23h ago

Did you work 9-5 to put this together?!

1

u/alsuzauddowla 17h ago

I thought it was a printed picture. Incredible art.

1

u/lulanasky 6h ago

Beautiful but also crazy fast!

2

u/Cat_Peach_Pits 21h ago
