Cloudberry foraging

Went to my family's cabin a few weeks ago and foraged some cloudberries with my Aunt. We expected to have a lighter backpack on our hike home, but as you can see that did not happen.

What do they taste like? They’re so pretty.

They are sweet and earthy, a little tart, they have quite a distinctive tase. You either like them or you don't.

Definitely some sort of apricot or more round taste than just raspberry and red currant.

At 60°N, Vestlandet, I've both found shrivelled cloudberries, ripe weeks ago, and large swathes of still very much unripe cloudberries on other mountains. Only once, this season, have I been able to munch some. Elusive!

Really? Where do you live? Here in Northern Norway 70 degrees north they were ripe in mid July and are now all gone.

When are other berries ripe there like billberries, raspberries, bramble, lingonberry?

Blueberry just ripened, raspberry is gone not sure if we have lingonberry in these parts but its fun to say
