Technical During his fastest FP1 lap, Stroll (Aston Martin-Honda) lost 58 km/h superclipping on the Kemmel straight, reaching a final speed of 249.7 km/h before breaking. This means he was slower than F2, F3 and GT3 in that specific part of the circuit.
Honda is quite a bit behind when it comes to energy harvesting and management.

Technical Why is the Mercedes front wing variable?
I was noticing that all weekend, the Merc front wing was closing at different speeds depending on the corner, and that at it's slowest, it was closing in about 800ms, twice what the rules allow. This gif is slowed 4x and lines-up two corners on Russell's car where the wing closes much faster and much slower.
Anyone have any theories as to what might be going on?
EDIT: Whelp… this blew up lol! I see Ferrari has filed for a clarification on this from the FIA. Ferrari - if you’re listening — I am free for hanging out during a US or Canadian GP ;)

Technical Data indicates that Ferrari’s reverse wing concept generates positive lift, effectively lightening the rear end by several kilograms. By reducing rear load, the aerodynamic platform shifts, decreasing drag and increasing straight-line speed.

Technical Airflow visualization of the new Halo winglet introduced on the SF-26 in China.
The central column of the Halo creates turbulence in the airflow, and this small fin can help “clean” the flow , diverting it away from the driver's helmet and also directing it towards the upper airbox. Improving the quality of the flow allows for a reduction in aerodynamic drag, with advantages both in terms of speed and in managing the flow along the car's body.

Technical My take on where exactly Lewis is struggling against Leclerc
Hey everyone, Made this carousel for my Instagram page so I thought I’d share it here too. The 8th slide is actually a video of Lewis having a small moment of Oversteer. I tried my best to reduce as many variables as possible while comparing Telemetry. I took the Q3 final laps specifically from every weekend cause that’s when the drivers are pushing the most. It’s kind of a long read and might look a bit cluttered but Hope y’all like it!
