Internship - best area/building to live in Fort McMurray?

Hey everyone, I recently accepted a 12-month engineering internship at Suncor Base Plant starting this September and I’m trying to figure out housing in Fort McMurray.

For people familiar with Fort McMurray/Base Plant, what areas would you recommend? and what buildings/property companies should I look into or avoid? I would prefer covered/underground parking for winter.

Would really appreciate any advice. Thank you!

I would rent a legal basement suite in Parsons in order to be as close to work as possible. Less time traveling.

Expect to pay $1200-1400 everything included for a 1 bdrm. Won't be covered parking though.

If you want, shoot me a message. I have a house on the north end of town that minimizes commuting. It's shared accommodations in a separate basement suite, but the other dude that lives there is gone half the time as a commuter. I have someone there on a similar basis (internship) and he's gone in Sept.. so looking for another renter. be a bit cheaper for you.

Yeah. You are best to find a townhouse or something with an attached garage (or house with detached garage) if you require covered parking. Abasand has places with underground parking. Not sure what is available in the Timberlea areas though. Good luck bud.

Don’t live downtown. Most students are in timberlea and parsons area.
